In todays episode there was something that got me intrigued. The Ootsutsuki clan symbol is connected to the deception/genjutsu the gang leader placed on Ryogi.

Yup and the symbology is quite interesting since the moon represents deception to several cultures. Damn, it was shown already the meaning of the moon as a central point to the eye of the moon plan aka Infinite Tsukyomi.

Didn't he say he had multiple sellers and kara already controlled katasuke and had the kote knowledge so he might not be affiliated also dudes too weak to be connected to kara.

Maybe ryogis family was part uzumaki and he learned an uzumaki seals from them?

I am not so sure about that. An organization like Kara should be quite manipulative and be able to do things without attracting any attention towards them. So it is still very much a possibility that Gekko was set on the path by some outer Kara member.

He doesn't need to be affiliated to them directly as long as they're still able to get the job done through him.
