1. at the beginning there was gravitational singularity where the gravitational force was infinite which resulted in infinite temperature, density and spacetime curvature. that if we take the four dimensions of space and time not just where our world is but also a law of physics. according to relativity the c (speed of light) is constant no matter where the object that meassures it is or how fast it goes. that is why we have to interprete time differently and that is why at different speeds time varies, this is confirmed almost everyday at cern. after the big bang where everything was one point it exploded and space and time started to flow. and energy started to flow across the universe (the law that energy never disapears it only chnages (from mass, kinetics, ...), that is why once energy is the same everywhere our universe will ''die''. i dont know about any gasses but utside singularity there might have been other universes ... the M theory which at this time tells us that 10500 universes exist and each has its own laws ... this is dumbing it down very much ... oh and sorry iphone here
2 nothing doesnt really exist if nothing else there is always space and time or some other reality (even what you say as nothing is something and can bestudied) in this case at least in how much we can understand of the universe. i dont really wanna go into the models of quantum mechanics. bit aside from the particle theories there is the string theory
