Marco doesn't seem to be that much above Jozu if at all.
Who is
actually above who isn't what was being discussed in that comment. No one on Earth besides Oda knows the answer to that. My point was regarding Marco's superior story portrayal, in which I used the word "slightly".
Akainu (introduced last) was paralleled with Whitebeard, the Yonkou Captain.
Kizaru (introduced second) was paralleled with Marco, the de-facto first mate.
Kuzan (The first Admiral introduced) was paralleled with Jozu, the next best thing.
When the next Yonkou crew appeared (Red-Hairs) Akainu was paralleled with the captain again.
Kizaru was paralleled with the FM again.
Kuzan lacked a parallel entirely.
Akainu > Kizaru > Kuzan via blatant story portrayal. Though, they're all extremely close in strength.
Jozu and Marco have relatively equal combat feats, but Marco being the FM, leaving the war with less injuries
and being paralleled with the stronger Admiral puts story portrayal on his side, albeit
slightly.
