[Question] Between Luffy and Gai

After reading Naruto ch 669. I wonder.

Is there sort of similarity between Luffy and Gai when it comes to techniques?

I'm talking about Gear2nd and Eight Gates.

They both use punches and kicks..

Gai's abilities with the eight gates seems a mix between Luffy's 2nd gear (ascentics wise) and CP9's Rokushiki techniques like Sky walk.

Well they both work on the same principle(just 8th gate is like a super gear 2nd.)

gate 8, works by pumping the heart at a super speed, for a little bit, and the user will die from the strain to their heart, and it also produces tons of chakra.
The extreme blood flow makes it work just like Gear 2nd.

Gear second, uses a limb to compress and pump blood quicker.

Ultimately the techniques have the same effect on the users body(very increased blood flow).

Just gate 8, is much stronger.(and much deadlier)

yes, yes it was never explained how gear 2nd works, and certainly never shown what defeat made Luffy think about how to become stronger, yes, yes
