It's common for high end laptops to get awfully warm, they have designed special coolers for them on which you can place your laptop so it will cool the bottom.

Yea I'd suggest you put a book under the laptop or something so the fan can breathe or get an Alienware and the problem is eliminated

I had the same problem, even though i cleaned it regularly. Get a cooler as Chavez suggested, they really work.

Actually, I referred to these type of things:

You must be registered for see images

Normally they tells us not use it on something plain and strong. So if you wan't to use them on the bed or on your legs it will heat up very quickly.

I usually put a big book under the laptop so it's like a portable table :D

i still suggest getting a cooler and cleaning the dust out you dont want to damage your pc
too much dust can cause the motor in the fan to strip itself (the same effect with monarch butterflies breaking tree branches there was a lot of em)

and if u dont want to get a cooler a get a styrophome centered stand (styrophome conducts heat well so your pc wont bathe in heat and neither will your lap)

best buy isnt scamming you theyre having you pay the work thats gonna go into retriving data from a fried hard drive

im assuming this will have to be done in a method other than turning on the pc so it gets really complex if you have to recode data that has been physically extracted
