His ultimate goal has always been peace, even if it was twisted. He wanted a save world, ofc he needed power for that but as I said his goals always led ahead of his power. He didn't want that power to crush Naruto (he wanted to get rid of him because they had different believes of peace), more for to never have a villain again that's to powerful to handle.

It's because he was trying to get to that goal he got power hungry, he himself would have been a villain since he wanted to be the only one in the darkness and that would have been by killing a hero Lol he needed power for that, which is power hungry/letting the power get to your head.

Sasuke is the best Uchiha. He spent his life trying to avenge the clan, while Itachi and Obito slaughtered them, and Madara stopped caring about the Uchiha at all after he left Konoha. Itachi is obviously next best though. U_U
