What are the best states to live in? I plan to move somewhere. I don't like it here in North Carolina.

Chicago if you like getting shot up.

Thankfully I live in the far suburbs so I'm good. Otherwise Chicagos a great city to visit any time of year

I'm so sorry. I hated Carolina.

Cali, Arizona, Washington and Texas

Any first world country outside of the US sounds good to me.

Glad I'm not the only one who finds this state to be shitty. North Carolina is a terrible terrible place and it's crusty af. Would not recommend.

Go to California. That's where the playboy mansion is.

I really like living in California.

Pros:

It has nearly every terrain and climate possible: grass valleys, snowy mountains, beaches, large lakes, deserts, etc. Road trips are really fun and the state parks are all amazing.

I also really enjoy the cities. Los Angeles and San Francisco have tons of international influence which makes their food, music, and overall culture very diverse. Each time I'm there I hear different languages being spoken and will experience something new.

Last, I like the social outlook that California has. It's more progressive than most other states and tends to evolve faster.

Cons:

Sales taxes are pretty high, especially in the city. Sometimes it can be up to 13 percent! General living expenses can also be costly.
