Just 'cause he made all of those sacrifices and then never was in his son's life doesn't mean he's the best dad.

I'd vote for Shikamaru and Choji's dad just 'cause we've seen how awesome they were.

If it werent for his dad he would be dead twice scratch that three times would not be able to see him or his mothe rand gave him the kyuubi

Hard choice, Ino-Shika-cho's dads were all awesome and there for their sons/aughter and would risk their lives for their sons/daughter. Minato wasn't there for Naruto but it's not because he didn't want to not be there but there were things he couldn't do for Naruto where Kushina would be needed and instead of only thinking about Naruto's fate, he thought about the Village's as well as the world which he felt would be in danger by Tobi. Yes he had other seals he could have used but it was pretty much plot that he had to die so Naruto can go into all of that pain to become what he is not.

Minato died from Plot tho, if he lived then Naruto would have been smarter, stronger, faster than he was before. Jiraiya would have visited so he'll still get the toad contract and can train with both Minato and Jiraya. Kushina was friends with Sasuke's mom and Minato wouldn't have made the same decisions as the 3rd/Danzo/advisors so either he'll find a way for them to be more involve with the village so they don't feel left out or if they attack they'll be killed. If Obito and Itachi can do it then I'm sure Minato, Hiruzen, Danzo, Jiraiya, Kakashi (ws a jounin), Guy (Kakashi's rival) would be more than enough. Also Itachi would have been more on Minato's side in that fight as well. But I don't think fighting would happened cause Sasuke's mom at least knows Kushina and Minato cared for everyone, we don't know about Sasuke's father being friends with Minato but I think so cause wifes would probably invite the others to dinner and such.

Long term, Orochimaru probably wouldn't attack Konoha and if he did he'll have to face Minato who can seal his edos and beat Oro by marking him and Blitzing Rasengans and kunai slashes. Oro would deplete his chakra using Rebirth jutsu until he can't anymore. Minato would have been stronger due to 13 years passing so he'll be in his prime while Naruto being at least high chunin (he'll have FTG, rasengan, summoning at least) and in the 2.5 years he'll be high jounin-low kage. Akatsuki would have no chance lol

All in seriousness, by "Best", I think of a dedicated dad, u know?

Minato only been a Dad for less than a day. He's badass, don't get me wrong but I would count him out, same as Asuma.

The ones that would actually count as "dedicated" (spending some years as) dads: Choza, Inoichi, Shikaku, Shibi (Shino), Hiashi (Hinata), Kizashi (Sakura), Hizashi (Neji), Fugaku (Sasuke), Sakumo (Kakashi), Kagami (Shisui), Hiruzen (Asuma), 3rd Raikage (A), 4th Kazekage (Sand Siblings), Tajima (Madara/Izuna) and Butsama (Senju Bros.)

Sooo... The "Best" dad I'd pick.. I'm split between the Original Ino-Shika-Chos. If I must pick one, probably Inoichi, he had to handle two women in the house. :snick:

Edited: Kizashi also have two women in his house, plus, by stereotype, Sakura would be more difficult to handle than Ino. Kudos to Kizashi! :snick:

Minato : sealed the Kyuubi into his son and didn't gave him his clan name which result in him being hated by everyone.
Fugaku : no comment.
Nejii's dad : sacrificed himself and leaved his son alone.
Hinata's dad :hates Hinata.
Gaara's dad : no comment.
Sakura's dad : gave birth to Sakura.

Minato of course.

He sacrificed himself and used his own son as the nine tails host, which was a good choice because his son is now currently saving the world.

I agree w/ some of them. Especially Gaara's dad. No comment abt him.

I think one of the worst was Sakumo.. He took his own life while his son was alive. Oh, the psychological damage. But Kakashi said he forgave him, bygones be bygones, I guess.

Minato by default. there's not much competition tbh since most/all other fathers get no/little development.

A close second is the 3rd Raikage. He raised his son to be the next Raikage and succeed.

But if you go down the list of the main characters throughout the Manga...

Sausage's dad: Killed in flashback
Sakura's dad: barely any panel.
Kakashi's dad: Ditto.
Obito's dad: Only a half baked frame.
Garra's dad: Lol
Tsunade's dad: MIA
Nagato's dad: KIA? (Forget but still barely any panel.)
Madara's dad: Barely any panel.
