Lol. Kakashi without Sharingan kept up with his speed. Part 1 speed is overhyped due to our low understanding of a jonin's power. Sasuke moved as the "blink of an eye" in the chuunin exam, but i doubt it would even catch kurenai off guard.

I'm not completely discrediting him as a Taijutsu fighter at all. But to compare to him monsters like Lee and Gai? I don't think so.

Never said Madara was better than Lee and Gai. We all know that Lee and Gai excel in Taijutsu over any Uchiha. What you didn't interpret well was that i didn't compare Madara with Gai and Lee on speed feats. I'm talking about Madara using his Taijutsu which is decent at best. Also it doesn't always matter how fast you're as a ninja. If Madara can do all those moves which im sure of considering that he's in demi-god level. Demi-God doesn't only mean unleashing powerful attacks. It's also means that you're a force to reckoned as well in other areas. Now even if Gai and Lee beat Madara in a battle of Taijutsu. What Madara showed in that filler was an excellent way to repel attacks coming from others. I'm pretty sure that if we talk about combat. Madara could shake their heads a little until it pops off.

Who in your opinion is the best fighter when it comes to close combat fighting? Basically Taijutsu, but with other close range attacks.

I'm stuck between choosing Naruto in Sage Mode, and Might Guy, as they both are great at fighting at close range.
