The scar on her throat really surprised me, I wonder if Kubo planned that far ahead or just happened to give her a character design where her hair covers her neck. I don't see the point of killing one of them off, if they want to go up against the Quincies then they need all of the power they can get.

That might be the only way for Zaraki to push himself hard enough to discover his zanpakuto. His power when he reaches bankai will probably surpass what Yachiru and Zaraki currently have to offer, so I guess it's worth it.

Why do people keep assuming that Unohana's scar came from Kenpachi? There's absolutely nothing in that chapter that suggests Kenpachi gave it to her.

And honestly, if Kenpachi fought her before the manga started do you seriously think he'd survive to tell the tale? The real Unohana clearly isn't the mercy giving type. If Zaraki fought the original Kenpachi he would be dead. Kenpachi didn't give her that scar.
