East may have been weak but to beat in the playoffs and to carry a team by himself, i mean the team couldn't sustain an offense for 3 minutes without lebron i remember one game where lebron either scored or assisted on every point in the 4th quarter for the cavs and they scored 35 it was rediculous

Kobe is the only person i'd accept as a debate for whose better anyone else is ridiculous.

I agree with the bolded part 110%...

I see the case you're trying to make for LeBron there and it is legitimate, but the fact still remains, if the Lakers were in the East and Cavs were in the West, Lake Show would probably had made it to the NBA Finals countless times. Again, the only real big team then were the Detroit Pistons.

But, I'm not a big What If guy so I'll just leave that alone. And yes, LeBron is a better PASSER than Kobe no doubt. He's younger and able to do things that Kobe now at his age cannot. However, there are several things Kobe has that LeBron can't show me that he has on a consistent basis.

He isn't clutch enough for me, his leadership skills aren't on par with Kobe's. Kobe Bryant will coach the players alongside Mike Brown when he's not on the court. He see's things others do not see. And please don't let me start talking about the many times I've seen LeBron QUIT on his team during the Playoffs smh...

And then this is the sad part... Kobe Bryant is older and gets injured a hell of a lot more than LeBron does. LeBron had this elbow injury, that wasn't that serious and acted like he couldn't do anything one series against the Celtics. It was sad. Kobe plays with broken fingers, banged up knees, legs injuries and more every single season and he still gives you numbers in the Playoffs. I've seen growth from LeBron but he still has a lot of work to do in order to be considered the best in my opinion.

Has anyone even watch what Basketball was like in the 90's? early 2000's?

Basketball now is crap compared to back then.

I can only compare to what I have experienced. Furthest I can remember is from early 90's on.

With that said, I can only speculate what the 80's was like. But the 90's it was awesome. The games/atmosphere it was crazy. Even the early 2000's Lakers vs Kings?? Game 5 was awesome, even though i didn't like robert horry.

Now a day's it just lacks something...............

Question needs to be rephrased to either "Best basketball player CURRENT" OR "Best basketball player ever"

With that said.
I pick the one and only Mike "Air" Jordan.

I hate this debate because young people don't know about 50s - early 80s in my family we use stats & watch LOTS OF OLD GAME FILM

100 points aside WILT is the greatest EVER

yes but the question itself is misleading.

Lets make a smart guess here called a hypothesis.

Most of NB members range from 12-22 ish range. At the age of 22 you were born in 1990. Which means from 1990-1994/5 you most likely won't remember a lot. That means you missed half the 90's.

The poll is current list of players but if thats ALL you know and you debate who is the best without the current/all time. Then there will be people like me stating hey, NONE of the players NOW are or were EVER good or better than <insert great bballer in the 90's name here>

I disagree, hey maybe the 90's NBA was amazing, but as the person before you stated he believes the 80's were the best. It's all in a matter of when you grew up. I was born in 1996 and I didn't start watching NBA until like 2008.

It's kind of like WWE. I had alot of memories of watching it with all my relatives but now I think its missing something.

It all depends on when you grew up and the time period that you really enjoyed watching it.

Lol I hope I didn't make you feel old. xd

Props to my boi Better for shutting shit down, you are one of the few kobe fans that i respect because you have logic and can admit that lebron is the best player in the nba even if it hurts to say it.xd

The people i can't wait to destroy their arguments this weekend are rasenkarin and ghostofthewind, be preparedxd

OP: no offence but there should be only 2 people in the poll(lebron,kobe)... anybody else is invalid. The people that voted for the others except for the players that i mentioned is fanboying hard. U_U

That's the risk of making threads, expect the worst post reply. I'm not happy with the line up of players, that's all. I hate hypocrisy.

Go ahead report to the super Mods that "Don Drama" doesn't like my thread.. we are not in pre-school dude, so wake up.

I believe I know where are you from.. most of us loves basket ball from PBA and NBA. I grow up admiring legends like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. For me, they were that ones who revolutionized NBA.

You can't deny it, the selecion of players in this thread is BIAS all in favor to your delight. If I'm wrong, then you can just simply negate my statement in a diplomatic matter.

Spare me of sarcasm, and you better start using proper english words before I report you.

I'm kind of glad my favorite player isn't one of them in that list. I'd be pressed to argue for him with unrealistic assumptions.

As much as I dislike him, its Lebron. He just has such unreal athleticism. He can shoot, drive, post up, rebound, pass, and shut down any position on the court. He's a freak.
