If we are talking about the strongest characters that never lost. let's see

- Hashirama, lost twice. (Hiruzen defeated him, and he got killed in the war)
- Tobirama, lost at least 3 times that we know. (Hiruzen defeated him, and 2 times against Kin, Gin)
- Hiruzen got defeated against Oro, so at least one.
- Minato, ?, did not lose as far as I know.

- Madara, I lost count, he always lose against Hashi his whole life!
- Obito, lost against Minato.
- Itachi, he lost against Sasuke, and he run away from jman and his clone (with 30%) lost to naruto.
- Jman. lost to Pain.

...etc

I think only the Sage and Minato.

Itachi is one of my favorite characters but he did lost. The way he lost is familiar with everyone,he was sick and wanted Sasuke to get MS

he made himself lose...he never wanted to win..that whole fight was planned out by itachi...he has always been 2 steps ahead of sasuke from the beginning

Minato died by his own means

Itachi exhausted all his chakra on purpose, he actually had Susanoo up with pure will power because his Sharingan wasnt activated anymore

And the last one is Shino, he hasnt had a hint towards a lost. He was going to defeat Kankuro if he didnt run to Gaara if im not mistaken

my opinion is fact, if your undefeated and lose purposely that doesnt change the fact that logically you are still undefeated. Yes the match in sense shows that itachi did lose but looking further behind the means there more to it which shows it wasnt a legit loss which makes him undefeated still.
