"I am the alienated, the ridiculed, the despised. No need to praise my name. No need to envy my body. I am the shadow under the radiance of heroic spirits. Birthed of the darkness of glorious legend. And so, I hate, I resent. Nourished by the sighs of the people precipitated within the darkness, people that curse the light. This is my disgrace. Because of her unsullied glory, I must forever be belittled. You are, the sacrifice. Good, give me more, your blood and flesh, your life. Let them ignite my hatred!" - ☬ BASIC INFORMATION | 基本情報 ☬
![]() ![]() ![]() Berserker is a robust man almost fully clad in pitch-black armor (excludes gauntlets) and a rustic helmet with a thinly carved slit displaying the ghastly look of his eyes. The lower portion of the helmet can be lifted up to expose his face and it will remain in this position until lifted back down. The armor is the work of the delicate and nuanced workmanship of its smith's utmost effort, succeeding in granting it an air of formidability and a fine construction. It is a perfect armor that can be called neither exquisite nor crude, and it instead perfectly melds magnificence and functionality. It is carved with countless marks and scratches, the highlights of his various military exploits etched into it to add a touch of valor. It is an ideal battle outfit that all knights could not help but envy. During his early life, he was an ideal incarnation embodying the true face of a "knight." Having lost his distinguished dignity of the past, he has been thoroughly changed by his descent into madness. He has a blackened face, the visage of a living dead man who has lost everything to a curse. He had a beautiful visage capable of drawing the admiration of many women, but his hatred has made him gaunt and pallid like a phantom. The only part of him filled with light is his eyes that are filled with hatred. Unless stated otherwise, the lower portion of his helmet is always raised by default so he can release techniques from his mouth and he never wears his gauntlets so he's capable of performing handseals. The identifying marks of his armor are hidden, only revealing the fact that he is fully clad in armor without any opening. It shows no ornaments or polished luster like that of Saber or Gilgamesh. Blurring the characteristic features and clues on the lineage of the maker, it makes him look like a "shadow", a bottomless black darkness like Hell. ![]() ![]() I am the alienated, the ridiculed, the despised. You are, the sacrifice. Good, give me more, your blood and flesh, your life. Let them ignite my hatred! ![]() In one sense, he can be said to be a victim of Saber's righteousness. Saber believes the root of it to stem from her hiding her gender. Seeking punishment for his actions, he was forgiven by the one person who he desired it from the most. The wretchedness he felt from that simple act was overwhelming for him. His guilt weighed down on him the more he adored his leader, so his only salvation became to personally bring about her downfall. The atrocities he committed were of an insane and irritable young man, but ultimately driven by his overwhelming love for his kage. He hated that she could remain an ideal kage even after learning about the affair, and lamented how his kage sacrificed herself for the sake of her nation. Lancelot's downfall began when he fell in love with Arthur's queen, Guinevere. Though the king was actually a woman, she had married in order to maintain the pretense that she was a man and the image of a stable royal family. Guinevere, in turn, willingly sacrificed her own life as a woman in order to preserve this ideal government. When Lancelot and the queen began their affair, the Knight of the Lake considered fleeing Iwagakure with her, but his loyalty to Arthur and his sense of duty prevented him from doing so. When political enemies of the king exposed the affair, the queen was ordered to be executed. Left with no other choice, Lancelot attempted to save her, killing several of his fellow knights including Gawain's brothers, Gareth and Gaheris, in the process. Lancelot, who was considered the perfect knight, Guinevere, the queen who had made her beloved betray his duty, and Arthur, the king who blamed herself for her loyal knight's despair, all suffered from the resulting fallout. Although Arthur forgave Lancelot's actions, Gawain still bore great hatred towards Lancelot for his betrayal and the death of his brothers for a long time. His disloyalty had fractured the balance within the Knights of the Round Table (an order of shinobi that seek to emulate the Knights of Old). This incident eventually became the trigger of civil war and carnage, and the country shattered to pieces in the flames of war. Lancelot, even after being excommunicated, wanted to participate the Battle of Iwagakure to serve his King but Gawain hostilely rejected him which resulted in the downfall of his King and country. When Lancelot heard the news of his King, Lancelot sank in despair and escape through madness thus, he became Berserker. As Berserker, he gives off nothing but murderous intent and the thirst for blood, his deep hatred radiating out from him enough that he can easily be sensed even when he is hidden. He is able to battle with finesse due to his martial prowess, and he shows the ability to recognize that Lancer has been ordered to help him and take him as an ally for a short time. He still recognizes his Kage, instantly becoming hostile towards her and forgoing any orders in order to fight her. He growls parts of her name, a moan full of malice hardly resembling human speech. ☬ Village Information | 村の情報 ☬

☬ Background Info | 基礎的な情報 ☬ ![]() ![]() ~ Dawn of His Life ~ Lancelot was born in Iwagakure and is the son of Kage Ban and a woman named Elaine, not be confused with the mother of Lancelot's son. He is also the cousin of Sir Lionel and Sir Bors. His name at the time was Galahad, which later also becomes the name of his son. Kage Ban is sent from his country by his enemy. When his father is wounded, Lancelot is taken away by a lady with magical powers named The Lady of the Lake. Lancelot's sword, Arondight, had mystical powers and was given to him by the Lady of the Lake. It was believed that Lancelot's sword was molded by the stars and represented the hopes and dreams of people. Lancelot eventually uses his sword to kill Sir Gawain's brother, and his sword becomes cursed. When Lancelot grows up, The Lady of the Lake sends him to be a part of Kage Arthur's court under Knight Gawain. Lancelot spends a lot of time proving he is a good knight, and when he arrives to Kage Arthur's court he falls in love with Kage Arthur's wife, Guinevere. Guinevere does not at first respond to Lancelot's advances, but eventually gives in to his request. In one challenge, Lancelot battles a number of men with the help of the Lady of the Lake. After this quest he lifts a slab with the name Lancelot under it and he becomes known as Lancelot (before this quest he'd only been known as The White Knight.) After Lancelot befriends one of Arthur's enemies, Galehaut, and convinces him to surrender, Kage Arthur makes Lancelot a member of his round table. Galehaut later convinces Guinevere to return Lancelot's admiration, which leads to the downfall of Lancelot and Kage Arthur. ![]() It is believed Lancelot was 'tricked' by Elaine into having an affair because he supposedly thought she was the Queen. Elaine dies of a broken heart because of her unrequited love for Lancelot. When the Queen finds out about Lancelot's relations with Elaine, she becomes upset and bans him from Kage Arthur's Court, although they eventually get back together. Lancelot takes several years to recover and eventually returns to Kage Arthur's court. Ultimately, Lancelot's affair with Guinevere is a destructive force resulting in the death of Gawain's brothers and his two sons, the estrangement of Lancelot and Gawain, and Mordred's betrayal of Arthur. To seek revenge for the death of his brother, Sir Gawain convinces Kage Arthur that Lancelot is a traitor and a war starts between the two men. Sir Mordred, Kage Arthur's son, wants to become Kage and marry Guinevere, so he tells everyone Kage Arthur was killed in battle with Sir Lancelot. Mordred becomes Kage, but Kage Arthur hears the news and returns to regain his country. On his death bed, Knight Gawain confesses to Kage Arthur that Lancelot was not a traitor and asks Kage Arthur to forgive Lancelot. When Kage Arthur and Mordred battle each other for the country, they are both killed. Arthur actually survives the conflict but flees his country in ignominy. Upon hearing the news of Arthur's death, Lancelot finds that Guinevere has become a penitent. She blames all the destruction of the Round Table upon her and Lancelot's love. She refuses to kiss Lancelot one last time, tells him to return to his lands, and that he will never see her face again. Instead, Lancelot declares that if she will take upon her a life of penitence, then so will he. Lancelot then retires to a hermitage to live the remainder of his life in penitence with eight of his kin, including Sir Bors, joining him. Eventually he becomes a monk, later conducting rites over the deceased body of Guinevere. ~ Interlude of Darkness ~ After the queen's death, Lancelot and his fellow knights escort her body to be interred beside Kage Arthur (it was in the same place that Gawain's skull was kept). Lancelot, distraught for the loss of his beloved Kage and queen, begins to fail. Six weeks after the death of the queen, Lancelot supposedly dies. In reality he flees his homeland in search of redemption. Finding no way to atone for his sins, he sought refuge from his despair by allowing himself to descend into madness. ![]() Overcome by guilt of how she had contributed to his downfall in life, Saber loses her will to fight, and is brutally battered by Lancelot. She blocks one final blow from Berserker, expecting the next to be a killing strike, only to have him completely cease all movement. Taking advantage of the situation, Saber drives Excalibur into the frozen Berserker, dealing him a severe wound. She tearfully tells him that she had wished to atone for her past mistakes, including her part in Lancelot's "death" (his descent into madness). Having regained his sanity, Berserker admits that he wished Saber had condemned him for his crimes, and demanded penance of him. Instead, her willingness to forgive him made it impossible for him to forgive himself. Berserker collapses into Saber's arms, sighing that, in the end, he would die in the bosom of his Kage, like a loyal and just knight. In response to this she tells him not to accept the sweet release of death but continue living and pursue redemption with every inch of his being. That he should leave this world crying and screaming, begging for more time to right his wrongs. Heeding her words, Lancelot desperately latched onto his life and continued living so that he could redeem himself for the sins perpetrated while he was Berserker. With this single thought in mind, he made his way towards Kirigakure... Instead of discarding his suit of armour he reforged the helmet and continues to don the black chassis of steel as a reminder of his vow to Saber, of his quest for redemption and most importantly the taints of his soul that can never truly be erased. In a similar fashion to how knights name their swords, he dubbed the armour Lord Vile. ![]() ![]() ~ Earth Release ~ Due to possessing a natural affinity to the Earth element, after mastering it, Berseker's become capable of performing all Earth Release techniques (which require handseals) with faster handseals. ~ Coal Release ~ Berseker's creation of Coal Release was inspired partly by his Kekkei Genaki Steel Release and partly by an ingrained motivation to further refine his own mastery of Earth Release. He managed to form it by subjecting earth to extreme pressures and high heats, similar to the conditions rocks are under deep inside of the earth's crust. ~ Knight's Arsenal ~ Lancelot carries a whole multitude of weapons. In his ninja pouch, he carries shuriken, explosive kunai, explosive tags, flash and smoke bombs, ninja wire, and all the other items essential for a ninja. He also carries a basic black scimitar on strapped to his left hip which can be wielded with one hand. Other non-conventional weapons he carries include: a pouch full of fine sand, a gas mask, some cigarettes and flint. He also carries a separate pouch of small creatures made of earth such as spiders, birds and snakes. These vary in size from a few centimeters to the size of an average apple. All of them have two explosive tags attached to them (on top and underside). They are carried around to be primarily be used with Earth Release: Gift of Gaia. Along with the conventional metallic weaponry carried by shinobi, Lancelot also utilizes kunai and shuriken (both basic and explosive) made out of coal. ~ Will of the Bloody Mist ~ Being a member of Kirigakure, Lancelot has become all too acquainted with blood shed. He holds a firm belief that invaluable information takes precedence over the lives of comrades, and will show no remorse in killing his allies for the sake of the mission. He often comments that "the mission is absolute". ~ Ray Summons ~ During his life Berserker explored a wide range of abilities as his life as a bounty hunter, before coming across Ling Yao. Shortly after meeting the man, he was allowed to sign his infamous Ray Contract. Signing the Ray contract meant he could summon any of the rays to battle at any time to aid him. From signing the contract he was gifted with a special tattoo located just below the underside of his left wrist, making summoning the creatures a quicker process. ~ Eel Summons ~ Berserker, after coming across the owner of the Eel contract was allowed to sign these fearsome creatures. As a result, he become capable of utilizing jutsu associated with the contract and is able to summon them to battle at any time to aid him. From signing the contract he was gifted with a special tattoo located just below the underside of his right wrist, making summoning the creatures a quicker process. ![]() ![]()
