Well im going to be honest I want to learn earth because it is required 
Im currently training in Fire Release and Water Release as well

Water- Earth is especially strong against water because naturally it justs absorbs water and makes the ground muddy to the point where it just drys again....
Lighting-Lighting is especially powerful against Earth because the lighting just tares the earth up with little to no effort
Fire- When a person has 2 natures one being Fire and the other being Earth it can make a special kekkei Genkai called Lava Release... Hence Hot Flames+Earth=Lava
Water- When a person has 2 natures one being Water and the other being Earth they can create another especially powerful Kekkei Genkai called Wood Release or "Mokuton"
Wind- Im pretty sure if a person has Wind and Earth Natures they can use Dust Release not sure though...

I guess Earth Can be Either extremely Hard or it can be extremely soft... Same with how heavy it is.... Most of our surroundings are made of Earth.... But one does not have to use the earth on the ground.... You can also make you own earth... With Earth Release you can also change the density of the Earth around you... making it as hard as Steel or as soft as Clay.... You can also change the weight of the Earth.... Making it heavier or lighter.... You can use the earth for transportation... either riding on it on the surface and traveling through the ground...

There is no right or wrong, I simply wanted to see what you though Doton was.
So as you said, your chakra needs to be able to manipulate the density of the rock. You also use your chakra to manipulate the shape and size of earth jutsu or pre-existing earth.
Why don't you try sending your earth chakra into the ground in front of you, focusing it to push up a section of earth to create a small pillar for you to sit on.

Alright here goes nothing ^^
I bend down and put both hands to the ground... nothing happens... hmmm
(I then remember during my fire training you had to focus your chakra....)
I then try again ... this time focusing my chakra into my hands, A small pillar of earth rises.
Wow cool
I then sit down waiting for further instruction.

So I'm going to need you to mention how you use your chakra to achieve the jutsu. The pillar won't magically arise, you need to use your chakra to push up the section of earth. Most earth jutsu will work in much the same way.
None the less, there is really nothing else to that jutsu.
This is a nice little trick to pull, it's one of Kakashi's jutsu.
You'll need to use your earth chakra to open up the earth and allow you to go underground, closing itself up behind you. Move underground towards my clone's position, using your earth chakra to open up around you so you can move around freely. When you are behind my clone, Reach up and grab his ankles, pulling him down into the earth as you pull yourself up. The result is you standing on the surface, and my clone underground with just his head above the ground, open to attacks.
None the less, there is really nothing else to that jutsu.

Alright Ill try my best ^^
I start by focusing my chakra to my hands... I grab the earth.. the earth moves like paper... I make a big enough hole for me to fit into.
Once under ground I start focusing my chakra throught my body.. As I walk through the ground the earth moves making enough room for me to walk.. *its as if the earth is moving with me* I then sense the clone above me.. I walk a little further to get behind it... I then push both my hands through the ground like its nothing and grab the closes feet and pull it down until only its head is showing... I then walk back closing my original pathway and pop up from the ground closing the entrance.

This next jutsu will involve you manipulating an existing piece of earth by adding to it using your own earth chakra. Pick up that small rock next to you, the channel your earth chakra into it, using it to change the shape of the rock and add to it where needed to create a nice pointed spear.
What could you do with this spear?

I pick up the small stone next to me.. I hold it out in the palm of my hand and begin focusing my chakra intro it... The stone begins to change shape right before my eyes! *Alright I need to focus* I start by stretching the stone making it longer.. once done I then begin to sharpen the edges making them sharp points... *That looks like a spear right!*
I could use this spear for many simple things... If i was out of tools I could use it... I could also use it in battle... The sharp edges are just as sharp if not sharper than a Kunai... Whats also good about this is I have a unlimited supply around me.. I could make more with the earth around me.. The only limit to it would be my chakra.. but it wouldn't be much of a problem since this jutsu is pretty simple and doesn't use much...

Indeed, just having a small rock in your hand at a moment of desperation, you can make a nice weapon out of it xD
For this jutsu, I would you like to send your Earth chakra into the ground and then focus on lifting sections of the Earth to move them around my clone. When you think you've positioned a two large enough stones either side of my clone, smash them together to make a clone sandwich.

I stare intently at your clone... Alright I can do this..
I focus on the ground around the clone and imagine 4 giant walls rising from the ground.. I focus my chakra into my hands and slam them to the ground... 4 giant walls rise from the ground and surround the clone.. I then move them all inwards crushing them.. making a perfect clone sandwich.. Who said you couldnt train in Earth and cooking at the same time xD

What do you do with you chakra to make the sections of rock rise up, move around and then crush my clone?
Also note, it's only two slabs of rock. Also make sure you state the rough size of them, you wouldn't want something the size of a skyscraper (as this is only a C-rank and you wouldn't have enough chakra) but you also wouldn't want them to be the size of a dinner plate.
