You say you're a Christian so let me ask you a question that has been bugging me. Does your father, your biological father, love you? Do you believe he would lite you on fire and watch you burn, just because you don't love him back? Mine wouldn't, and I sure as hell wouldn't burn anyone to death, let alone someone that I supposedly "love." So please give me your answer as to how you can believe in this creator who "loves" you so much?

This is the problem with society. If someone doesn't believe what you believe, you blow their belief out of proportion. To actually understand someone's belief, you should actually try to understand what their religion as a whole is.

1.) Atheism is not the belief of science or that science is the answer to everything. There are religious scientists out there too, not all scientists are Atheist.

2.) Atheism is NOT the belief in no deity. Atheism is the LACK of belief in a deity. That means Atheism is an open textbook as far as a religious topic goes. I'm Atheist, I have morales, I have a sense of dignity, pride, humiliation, just as a religious person does. If you tell me a god exists, I'm not going to say prove it, you're wrong, or any of that. I'll just say OK, a god exists. I'm not going to sit here and deny your belief. Reason being, I cannot disprove your god as much as you can prove it, so why would I stoop to the level of blatant insults?

3.) Atheists that actively try to disprove a god or religion is pathetic. Just because one isn't religious doesn't mean you shouldn't have respect. If you want to believe in a god, please do. If you want to be homosexual, please do. Who are you to decide how one can live their life? (unless you're trying to something messed up like murder, than please find the proper intervention/response team to stop that psycho)

4.) Science is NOT the fundamental grounds of Atheism and this is the one that really pisses me off. Never has a true scientist denied the existence of any religion through science. Science has a method of carrying out their experiments/tests, and that is called the "Scientific Method". In order to carry out this procedure, you must first ask a question. For the sake of this thread, our question will be "Does God exist?" Next step is to create an experiment, a list of steps on how we can prove or disprove this question. So once again, for the sake of this topic, our steps will be... Wait, how do we create a list of steps to prove/disprove a omnipotent, celestial being? The answer is we cannot. Since we CANNOT create an experiment to this question via the Scientific Method, that means IT IS NOT SCIENCE. Simply put, religion is not science. We can't say it's true or false because we simply cannot test it. Does that mean god does or does not exist? Well since it's not science, we can't give a definite answer to that question.

Honestly, people that attack one another or say their belief is preposterous, unlikely, unbelievable, unexplainable, etc. are in my opinion, the lowest of the low, the scum of the earth, the most despicable people imaginable, the ones that cause chaos and war within our world. People say it's because you are unable to understand their fundamental beliefs, but I view it as you're not even bothering to try to understand them, you're simply hating because you can.

Even though terms like atheism and theism can be quite complex, in essence it comes down to whether you believe in the existence of a higher deity or not. Theists believe there is one or more, Christians, Jews, Muslims etc. are all theists. The people who do not believe in it are atheists and just like with theists you have a large variety in the kinds of atheists there are. Atheism and science are not directly related with each other. The one does not have instantly something to do with the other as they are two different things. You can be a real theist while believing in science, likewise you can be an atheist and believe in the existence of fairies, leprechauns and ghosts.

The concept of theism and atheism refers to the believe in a higher being or not. Whether you do that or not, outside that, you can be irrational, skeptical and superstitious as hell as that has nothing to do with a god or gods. There are atheists who firmly stick to science, likewise you have ones that do not give a damn about it.

If you don't even understand that self-created messed up version of what an atheist is yourself, no one will.
