Before i give Tokyo Ghoul:re another chance.

I haven't bothered reading Tokyo ghoul:re, I got really confused after reading through the first 20 chapters a while ago and stopped. Can someone here please explain this to me, did kaneki really died at the end of Tokyo ghoul? Is he present at all in Tokyo ghoul:re? Also who is sasaki and why is he like the main character now? That's all I wanna know, but if you can help me understand the whole Tokyo ghoul:re plot to me that would be great. I don't mind getting spoiled at all.

How Kaneki was 'reborn' has yet to be explained but Arima confirmed that Kaneki actually died and was brought back to life.

Ok, I see. So Arima killed Kaneki and they gave his abilities to this person called Sasaki? And Kaneki exists in his mind just like that girl existed in Kaneki's mind? But the girl was alive though, doesn't this mean that what exists in sasaki's mind is only an illusion of Kaneki?

Not exactly. I'll try to explain this using an example: Lets say your name is Adam. You live a healthy lifestyle and are very strong. You unexpectedly suffer a brain injury and lose 99% of all your memory. You don't know who you are or anything about your past, but your body is still strong and fit. Someone sees this as an opportunity to turn an able-bodied person into a tool for their personal use. This person tells you that your name is Luke and they create a persona for you. Since you don't know anything about your past, you just go along with what this person is telling you. As time goes on, that 1% of memory you kept after the brain injury starts to return and you can remember bits and pieces of your past.

The girl that existed in Kaneki's mind is Rize. She existed within Kaneki because Kaneki's injured body was repaired with her ghoul organs. It is theorized that a ghoul's Kagune contains pieces of the ghoul's personality and 'soul'. This would explain why Kaneki would often hear Rize's thoughts in his consciousness.

haise is kaneki it just he lost his memory then arima brainwashed into haise XD

So you wanna get spoiled? Fine, I 'll spoil. Haise Sasaki si the name they gave to our beloved Kaneki-kun in CCG. Arima instead of just killing him decided to make him his "quinque", this time a living one. So taking advantage of the fact that he had already stabbed him twice right through the head, proceeded to brainwash him even further and so this "new" person was created, Haise Sasaki. Haise doesn't have memories before his 20s but somewhere deep he does remember his former self, Kaneki, and some situations trigger those memories, bringing the Kaneki-kun on the forefront.

Meanwhile, the Aogiri is as interested in Kaneki so they monitor him and try to also manipulate the circumstances he is in.

Finally, the clowns also monitor our Kaneki/Haise and they want to bring his former persona back up because they find that more entertaining (Ok Roma might find it even arousing but nevermind).

All in all that's all there is to our protagonist.

I think that this a bit absolute. He may not come back in the exact way we knew him but you can't deny that there are times that we see him, like in this chapter when he was quoting Eto's story.

You read 20 chapters of Re and you couldnt figure out Haise = Kaneki? Either you weren't reading at all or you severely lack reading comprehension, which is most likely why you couldn't enjoy it.

Yea I found it very boring about all those pages og words speaking about small fries. I actually tend to skip them. Because those small fries really do not interest me at all. Just too much words for many characters that gonna disappear in 2-3 chapters (on top of that most are weak)
