a common argument in naruto forums. but lets remember some of the great shonen battles.
cell vs gohan - the 10 year old won (but personallly this fight was horrible for other reasons)
ichigo vs byakuya - the 15 year old nub beat a 100+ year old warrior.
naruto vs pain - the 16 year old won.
usually the older fighter is overconfident, condescending and facing an underdog hero. he usually has every reason to think he will win. more often than not, the "child" is more intelligent than anyone gives them credit and wins because of that (shika vs hidan).
as a general rule, kids are already basically immortal (except neji and all the childen itachi stabbed and butchered) so shonen has a habit of abusing that. its not embarassing for the loser, they just fell victim to plot

Hmmm in some point ur right. But IMO, they are showing that not all adults win a fight between kids. Notphysically(except in anime heheehhe) but sometimes in mentally also.

not fighting to kill or even hurt, probably sick from needing a new body and underestimated itachi, even then itachis best shot failed and he resorted to physical attacks which we know do not faze oro

it was a joke I doubt he would lose to every uchiha he almost had Sasuke's body and only lost because of plot, but he does seem to get over excited and cocky though which lead to him getting sealed

I think he could kill every Uchiha he wants but not the following (correct me if i forgot some) Madara, Obito, Sasuke, Itachi, ok there wer much more Uchiha Orochimaru could have easily killed them.

Take Japanese protagonists' age with a grain of salt - They tend to be rather unrealistic. My favorite is Ash being a 10-year-old and can supposedly ignore school and is encouraged to go on an adventure around the world to battle monsters that can literally breathe fire.

And that's not even considering the mentality of a preadolescent person.

You should count out the Ichigo versus Byakuya fight.

Ichigo was maxed haxxed when he fought Byakuya, he mastered the Flash Step and unlocked his Bankai when it was stated in the manga that Shinigami's were only able to gain access to it through rigorous extensive training which lasts for even a hundred years (of course I could have misheard as I do not watch this show often) furthermore didn't the Hollow Mask thing sort of aided him versus Byakuya (plot shield)?
