It's almost that day of the year
And sometimes it's hard to ask yourself this question
But what are you thankful for without fear?
It's hard to do, but let me make a suggestion
Instead of thinking about what you don't have year round
Then trying to be thankful for one day
Be thankful that you and your loved ones aren't in the ground
And that a few petty complaints are all you've got to say
Yes I know that some things in life pass without a warning sound
But You've just got to keep on rolling
There's so much more to it than letting the world spin you around
And sometimes moving on can be tolling
But don't give up being thankful til you are in the ground
This isn't just a nursery rhyme, but a life lesson
You can take it as is or live in misery and ignorance
Personally I'm all for freedom of expression
But don't always express misery or you'll suffer from incompetence
I guess my point can be boiled down to this
Be thankful this Turkey day for what you have now
And enjoy everything you can, especially love's kiss
Because next month it could be so cold you'll need a snow plow
(And maybe not for actual snow, but the ice cold feeling in your heart because you took for granted what you had.)
But anyways... Happy Thanksgiving folks!
