I was the most feared kid in my HS, top of the food chain. My prey of choice were other bullies and anyone who made life miserable for my not-cool friends. Most of the fear was "hype", but why kill the legend, it kept me from actually having to fight a lot of people, Hype + feat of strength= victory.

No wasn't cool and didn't care.
I think the whole worrying if you are/were cool or not in school is just pathetic. It's not like those people in school are going to be with you for the rest of your life.

Of course I had a few friends and once I moved they just became a thing in the past. Keep contact with most of them but people change and become interested in different subjects.
Something you get used to if your parents are in the military and you move a lot thus working on being "cool" in a new school became rather troublesome.
But I have a girlfriend with a baby on the way...kinda working against my nature of being a loner but I'm happy.
