I will keep it short. His overall character design seemed pale comparison to Sasuke. I am more interested in characters who have a bit of an edge to there characters. He was also a bit too quiet.

Two of some of the greatest characters in their story.
Screw Harry/Sasuke, screw Dumbledore/Madara. Snape & Itachi sacrificed their life, legacy & name for the good of their native land. History will never know what they did & the taint of disgrace followed them to their graves--going down into history as monsters & despicable traitors.

Edo itachi: Despite sasuke being 2 powers up on itachi while possessing his eyes, Itachi was never portrayed inferior to ems sasuke (who obviously is stronger). Furthermore kishi would allow itachi to finish kabuto off with a genjutsu loop that doesn't even use the eyes as the basis of the genjutsu.

Even with Itachi's death, BZ would praise his intelligence, hiruzen would praise his intellect, and hashirama would praise his value as a shinobi.
