[Suggestion] BB Code: Mention

I did a search but I can't find anything on this explicitly. I know of the bb code [mention][/mention] and wondered if it could be added here? It could be good for increasing intercommunication on the base.

Me too.

With this though, we could introduce people to threads that they weren't previously apart of. And that of course, generates more discussion. Could be good for when people want to shout-outs too.

Might as well just link them. A notification like that would get annoying to have popping up all the time.

As riker stated, you should be able to get a little quote notification if someone quoted you in a thread.

We already have a feature that shows you when you're quoted, though I've noticed it doesn't always work.

It doesn't work in a multi quote response.

I believe the NB database is way to large for this modification/plugin to work.
Usually, small scale plugins like what you're talking about work on smaller forums, but they usually have problems when added to larger sites.

Most of the times it doesn't, same goes for the single quote but the single quote has higher chance of working than multi quoting.

This is a good feature if you want to share a thread with a specific set of people.

1. If trolls want to do that on a regular basis, they would've used the quote system to do so.
2. That's conjecture.
3. They don't have to respond; it doesn't cost anyone anything to ignore a simple notification.

1. Which they do, you only have to reply once and the trolls can keep giving you false quotes.
2. Who knows.
3. If you want 'x' person to read the thread that you want him/her to read, why don't just you give them the link instead? It's not that hard, is it?

I've seen this feature on another forum and it has been very useful. I've never seen it being abused by trolls but then again this is NB, the intellectual level of most members is questionable.
It's a nice suggestion though.

u cant decide what feature to add on site on the basis of peoples' intellectual level.i think if we add this feature then it will be more interesting.
