In campaign can you choose your weapons, attachments, etc?

You unlock them throughout the course of the game (you can unlock some of them by picking them up from the ground). Oh, and 1 more thing, never ever play the multiplayer while you have a campaign mission saved. If you play multiplayer after the campaign, all of your save files will be glitched; deleted, hence you'll restart from the beginning.

This. I haven't played BF in a while, so I wouldn't be much help. I wasn't too happy with BF4 since it's just too different from BF3 which I rate as the best of them all.
