well i thank sand is weak against water and fire the good points about being the good points of gaara but i love gaara my favorite character and tbh pervy thats all i know sand is a tool create from earth and wind i thank but is good for long and mid and defence attacks and i know you can use sand in many different ways but its going buddy

Sorry pop but you're wrong on a couple of things but i'm here to help. Sand is pretty much like earth and so it's weak to lightning. We saw this in the chuunin exams when Sasuke used his chidori to get through Gaara's shield. Sand is weak to water as it gets to heavy to control as we saw in the filler arc and also when Sasuke fought the Edo Mizukage. Sand isn't weak to fire, it's neutral to it, same as earth and wind.
Sand is created from earth and wind. And as Gaar while fighting you should use Wind jutsu too like the shikaku did.
Sand is so useful for Gaara as you always have it on your back and have such a good defence with it. Not only this but you can turn the ground to sand at any time.

Right so when using sand always think, how would Gaara react in that situation, then do what he would do. That's the best way to Rp. You may not always win, but its fun. Let me give you some examples.
1. Someone just used a water bullet on you. Your sand is weak to water, what would you do?
What would Gaara do? Either:
A) Turn his body to sand and float away.
B) Control his sand under him to make a sand cloud to move him out of the way
C) Use his S rank sand defence to block it - you may get hit but you can turn your body to sand.
D) Use wind to blow it away, gaara can use wind so its just a little extra

Well that depends on the situation. If you want to use sand to attack someone using elements that your sand is weak to, you need to be smart.
If you attack head on, they will just throw an attack back at you to counter it but your sand will be weak to their attack.
So use your sand wisely.
Remember, you can turn the ground to sand, so make sand under them and attack them from below. That way they can't throw an attack at you they need to attack the sand below them.
You have other sand jutsu that rain down from above, and again they would have to attack upwards not being able to attack you.
Now if they attack you with lightning. The main thing you can do is use your sand to avoid their attacks, here are some example:
1. turn your body to sand and move out of the way
2. Create a sand cloud under you to move
3. Create a sand pillar that pushes you out of the way
4. Create a sand clone to push you out of the way
Avoiding is always good if you can do it.
I have a little training exercise we can do. I'll use Gaara and you just attack me with the basic 5 element. I will counter using sand and explain how and why i did that. Does that sound good? If yes, post a move to attack me.
i qickly peform some handseals and qickly create a hug lid over your head and droping it on you and as you dealing with that i send out a huge fire ball your way

Right so i can defend from this in a couple of ways. I said to you earlier what would Gaara do? Well think back to the Kage Summit, Gaara held up the roof with his sand, so one method could be:
Gaara releases his sand from his gourd fast as he creates 4 sand pillars around him that catch the lid protecting him from it holding it up above him.

Description: Gaara will manipulate sand from either his gourd or call it forth from the ground, using hand gestures to control it as he shapes it and uses it to his needs. He can use it to restrain enemies, defend from incoming techniques, produce simple constructs of sand (which lose their shape if control is released), sand waves, etc. If he uses the sand from his gourd, the technique is both faster and stronger, gaining a rank in strength.
What i did here was use the sand to block your first attack then use that as a shield from your second attack. With greater sand technquie to can pretty much do anything with sand and it's A rank. So your B rank lid was used as a shield so the A rank fire would be weakened by this, then the A rank sand behind it would overpower the fire and attack you.

As Gaara sees the lid dropping from above, he turns his entire body to sand moving backwards away from the lid reforming behind it so he isn't crushed:

Description: Gaara turns his own body into sand, or simply parts of it. While in sand form, he can cross long distances by soaring as a sandstorm. In this form he is also invulnerable to attacks. However he is unable to attack during this form.
Note: Transformation lasts a maximum of one turn.
He travels as a sandstorm. He reforms at long range behind the lid, which the fire blast would hit and be weakened by to A rank. Gaara's automatic sand shield rises around him to block the fire protecting him completely:

Description:
A self sustaining, self aware, autonomous defense, its the technique which made Gaara renown for having what was later called "Perfect Defense". Basically, any Sand nearby will encircle the user and move to intercept any attack that is used against him. The sand is fast enough to intercept otherwise "instant" techniques such as Amaterasu or very fast Taijutsu attacks (up to trice the users base speed) and can stop A-Rank blunt force impacts such as those delivered by Taijutsu or solid elements. The sand can even create an otherwise perfect sphere of sand around the user in a split second. Even if the user is unaware of an attack, the sand will protect him. The disadvantage is that the shield will drain chakra from the user each time it defends him, which happens without his input. However, the user can still defend from techniques and "will" the shield to not act if he is in the process of producing a counter to the impending attack. In some special circumstances, the sand can gather and form a female-like protector in the path of an incoming technique, much stronger than the normal shield of sand and which can protect the user from attacks up to S-Rank.
Note: Its defensive abilities still follow elemental weakness and strengths.
Note: If there is no dirt or sand on the battle field, the technique will use the users own Sand from his Sand Gourd.
Note: S-Rank protection will disable the Sand Shield for 2 turns and can only be activated once every 4 turns
What i did here was use sand to avoid the attack and create some distance like i said before, your shield of sand is also one of your best defences so always remember that too.

Ok, so we are mid range from each other, you are just a random ninja, i'm Gaara and it's a grassy field.
Here is my first move:
Gaara starts by infusing his chakra into the ground below you creating hands made of sand to bind your legs:
(Suna no Te) - Hands of Sand

Description: Gaara will manipulate his chakra to create a hand or multiple hands made of sand t deal with a single opponent or multiple oppnents and binding the legs preventing them from moving.
As the hands bind your legs i use them to crush your legs with sand burrial:
(Sabaku Sousou) - Sand Burial

Description: Sand that crushes the opponent after it covers there body.
Then as you defend from your legs being crushed. Bullets of sand shoot up from the sand hands hitting you in the chest:

Description: Gaara forms a small sphere made of sand and compresses it to increase its hardness. The sphere can strike opponents with such speed and force that it knocks them unconscious. He can also change its trajectory, to strike down multiple targets.
