The dad was violent when he was drunk, but the mom would be protective of her son, she would lock him inside a room and hold him in her arms sayin "hush, hush". Dont worry, its all gonna work out...
The child would pretend he would be somewhere else, be someone else, he didnt want to live the life that he lived. He didnt want to be afraid of his dad, thats why he liked to play with Bruce so much, Bruce never seemed to be afraid.

After Bruce parents got killed, Bruce would become isolated from everyone else, we went to a rich school ofcourse but even there he seemed to be all alone.
His butler, Alfred, took care of him and drove him to school everyday.
He never saw bruce again, but he remembered looking at some graduation photos. Bruce didnt seem as happy as the rest, it was as if that night had changed him. As if the old Bruce was gone and replaced with some dark gloomy Bruce that couldnt find happiness in his life.
He didnt like it, He thought that Bruce should be more happy, after all he was rich wasnt he?
After High school, Thomas Elliot was still stuck in Gotham while Bruce had the money to fly away and travel, nobody seemed to know where he went, but he was gone for several years. As he still lived at home when Bruce came back, he could see him being greeted by his Butler. He looked more "fit". And for the first time it seemed as if he had a good future, as if he had some sort of new plan on what to do with his life.
His childhood friend seemed to have forgotten about him completely. But what did it matter, he had new friends. One of them was a standup comedian known as Jack.
His life was not as funny as it should be though. Thomas was the only one that knew that, Jack didnt talk to anyone else about it, but after every show he would sit alone in the bathroom wondering what he was doing with his life, he would dress up in funny costumes, put on makeup only to wash it off. As if he didnt know how he was...
Thomas respected that. And he respected that it was all a secret. But he never liked the position the two of them were in.
What if one of them would actually do something with their lives? Then the other would be all alone, for real.
Thomas never liked that idea, and he never liked the way people would ignore their struggles. People should pay for that...
Gotham was a big city, if one or two people would be gone missing, who would care? It could all be kept a secret, and so Thomas decided to call himself Hush.
