1- This jutsu can be used on most battles because there is probably a little earth on every terrain you fight on.
2- You can create several staffs if you wanted to, giving your opponents a hard time on defending themselves.
Extra: No handseals required!
Disadvantages:
1- This jutsu is a D-rank jutsu, so if you are fighting against a skilled swordsman, they will most likely be able to cut through the staff.
2- If you intended to launch several staffs at once, your accuracy would decrease.

As I take the scroll from Shinta I then go on to perform the technique; I concentrate my chakra from within my right arm, and subsequently release the chakra creating a ring of rocks throwing them with a jut forward toward the 12 O'clock direction (North).
Are you manipulating earth or creating it? I'm Creating Doton chakra through the concentration of my chakra within my right arm/left arm.
What is your chakra doing to the earth, pushing/pulling/compressing/morphing etc? My chakra of course is morphing the chakra into Doton, once can argue however, that the chakra is also being compressed into small ring sized rocks.
Two advantages and Two disadvantages.
#1 Advantage: Covers any direction in which you throw these projectiles.
#2 Advantage: Possibly depending on if you can change the proportions of the rocks it may be able to block the opponents LoS (Line of Sight).
#1 Disadvantage: This jutsu is rather easy to dodge/parry/block, due to it being a D rank, and only firing a limited amount of projectiles.
#2 Disadvantage: Opponents within Long Range cannot be hit by this technique as it is Short-Mid; overall this should be used as a distraction in coherence to an upcoming technique.

1.It can be used as a distraction to give way for a more powerful jutsu
2. Since it involves less chakra you can release it a large amount which eventually would do a worthy damage. *Disadvantage
1.It can be cancelled by water or a opponent that capable of telekinesis
2.The distance and speed will show to be a problem against a swift ninja. *The chakra travel short distance since the moment the earth cane is released the shinobi loses control of it

1. It creates room to recover your stance and movement.
2. It effective when lacking a ninja tool like a katana when going against a kenjutsu ninja
3.Since it can both be used to attack and defend it makes your move unpredictable *Disadvantage
1. Clearly indicate to your opponent you came unnprepared.
2. When fighting a mastered ninja, u indicating u losing
