Kakashi has cleared this up multiple times. Naruto even without kurama has more chakra than most anybody in Konoha. This is the reason he and other Uzamakis are even able to withstand being kyuubi jinjurikis. Its also stated as the reason he was able to even learn senjutsu

There base capabilities were already displayed outside the hospital when Naruto and Sasuke were about to fight.
