Sorry to bust it to you but the straw hats have numerical system to their DF's

Luffy→ Gomu Gomu→ rubber→ 5(go) 6(mu)→ 5656
Chopper→ hito hito→ human→1(hi) 10(to)→ 110110
Robin→ Hana Hana→ flower→ 8(ha) 7(na)→ 8787
Brooke→ yomi yomi→ revival/ afterworld→ 4(yo) 3(mi)→4343​

The only number missing is 2 and 9 and Bari Bari Doesn't fit in the slightest.
Nor does Bellamy's fruit Or any other person with a devil fruit.

But there are three canonical characters that do fit
Fuku Fuku No mi (Clothes Clothes Fruit) OR Kinemon's Unnamed fruit that summons clothing
Niyku Nikyu no mi (Paw Paw Fruit) bartholomew Kuma
Niko Niko No mi (Smile fruit) ANY Smiley fruit user fits and the one we know of Momonosuke would fit

2 Ni, Niy, fu
9 Ko Ku

Which would fill in the pattern giving them all the numbers so the final count down being for the only df users that could join without throwing the pattern out of balance are -

• Kinemon
• Kuma

The japanese numbers are all one syllable words as well as the roman numbers system.
Five = 5
Six = 6
Well in Japanese it would be
Go = 5
Mu = 6
So Gomu Gomu no mi is 56 56

its a play on words by oda. It proves to be very well thought out

One Piece is great because it doesn't have a major system and is more free flowing. I doubt that number system is going to stop Oda making anyone he likes join.

Its not that its stopping oda from making anyone join. Its that we are introduced to "new" characters when in reality oda knows what he plans to do. Oda isnt seeing that character and saying "Wow i'd really think they be a cool straw hat" He is just making characters for us to enjoy. So when we see the numbers system its half of the puzzle and oda already finished it.
This was taken from SBS btw. Odas response was Next Question! as he normally does with spoilers.

In all honesty the straw hats are all aready a full crew we just need to get in on it.

But there's a possibility that Oda will keep this pattern. It wouldn't be much harm since Luffy did say he must, at the very least, get 10 people in his crew. Thus, more than 10 is still good. 1-10 playwords for devil fruit users amount. So interesting.

Except that hardly matters. Barto may not fit into the pattern, but him being there doesn't mean the pattern wouldn't be fullfilled. You'd just have the pattern+Barto and maybe more.
