It all depends on what you're into. Some people will think that Barney is funnier because Neil's role in How I Met Your Mother is the typical barmonger who is suave with the ladies and gets lots of ***, whereas the role of Sheldon which Jim has to play is quirky, and pretty much the exact opposite of Barney.

I'm still going with Sheldon because it's hard to act like that with big words and not having to laugh at all while trying to act like that. I'm well aware that Neil Patrick Harris is no doubt one of the best actors ever but I prefer Jim Parsons' acting style as Sheldon.

And I mean, you're right and all but it's like saying you like a painting more because it's way more complex than the other one you just looked at.
