Bardock's appearance is very similar to his son: he has unkempt hair which partially stands on end and a scar on his left cheek. He wears black and green Battle Armor. Later on, he wears his friends blood soaked armband as a headband when he fights in battles.
Personality
Bardock displays personality traits fairly typical of ninjas. He is somewhat cocky, loves fighting, and will kill in cold blood. He has a laid-back and fearless personality (which he passed onto his son, Goku),as evidenced by him and his suad accepting missions that baffle even the hokage's elite ninja's. He is a highly capable tactician in battle, able to perceive the situation at hand and act accordingly with it, as shown from his ability to out-maneuver many ninja's in battle. However, unlike a typical ninja, most having little care for comrades, Bardock deeply cares for the members of his team, and is enraged after finding them killed in Sunagakure.

Background Information
History
The term ' missions over team mates' was a term Bardock hated. Bardock loved his team more than himself so he would put his own life over theirs. Bardock and his team had come back from a successful capture mission from Konoha, but Bardock had suffered a injury that would require medical treatment.
Bardock treatment was successful and was advised by the doctor to stay in bed for one day. Knowing his team won't get assigned a mission without the team leader, Bardock went to sleep that night with a smile, knowing his team is safe from harm. Bardock woke up hearing two doctors over his bed discussing that a team was sent to the Mist without their team leader. Knowing it must be his team, Bardock ripped out all the equipment, grabbed his equipment ran to the Leaf, without a moment to spare.
It took Bardock three whole days to reach the borders off the Land of Fire, and a few hours to reach the Hidden Leaf. Hearing explosions Bardock hurried to the fight, with a feeling he never felt before...a feeling of fear.
Bardock entered the battle but feel to his knees, without receiving a blow. He ran his hand through his hair and began to cry, he stopped crying as soon as he heard one of his comrades voice.
When did Bardock ever cry, over a death. Our deaths are nothing more than a cycle of life. Ninja's are born into this world to die in battle. It is unstoppable, those who spend their whole life trying to overcome this, end up becoming weaker.
If I came a bit earlier I could of done something.... I COULD OF STOPPED THIS !!
This was something you couldn't stop, but their is something you can.The Kazekage is planning on wiping out all those he fears might over power him and cause him to fall.
You have that power inside you to stop him.

As soon as Bardock said this, he felt a swift kick hit him on is back. Bardock was thrown back but gain composure. He looked up and saw the Kazekages most elite team, he was confused, until he saw one of his comrades most prize possession, his grandfathers sword strapped on the back of the enemy. Filled with anger and rage, Bardock rushed at the enemy not caring about his life attacked them all. Bardock had the upper hand, until the squad leader of the Elite team, attacked Bardock from behind. Bardock was left unconscious with his fallen comrades.
Bardock was woken up by a vulture, pecking his ear. Brushing it off Bardock knew he had to return to home in order to foil the plans of the Kazekage.
It took Bardock three days to arrive back home, but Bardock's personality took over him, instead of rushing into battle, he tried to warn the villagers about the plans of the Kazekage but was laughed at and was ignored. Bardock knew it was hopeless, to help... he remembered his comrades final words and ran towards the Kazakages office. Bardock was greeted by the whole army of the sand, blocking his way to the Kazekage. He knew he had to fight his way through, the wall of Ninja's. He was overpowering most of the enemy even though he was still injured from his previous battle. Bardock stood in front of the walls of the kazekages office and shouted his name.
FRIEZAAAA !!!!
A white clocked man walked out onto the ledge, and stared directly into the eyes of Bardock. While lifting a finger, charging some sort of attack.
It all comes down to this...my fate...Sunagukre...my son and yes.... yours too frieza hahahhah

Bardock fires a attack towards Frieza, but frieza's charged attack over powers Bardocks attack and heads towards Bardock and the other ninja's.
Bardock frozen in shock watches the attack get bigger and bigger in size.
The large ball of fire engulfs Bardock and the rest of the ninja's. Hearing the manically laugh of Frieza, Bardock blacks out. Survivng the attack, Bardock wakes up in a hospital bed in kiriagukre.
