What do you guys think would happen if a rinnegan user were to use both techniques at the same time? Would it immobilize someone?

I know that something similar happened in chapter 661 but I can't say for sure if this was either both techniques or a different technique altogether (rinbo?).

My question stays the same though, would you think it would be possible to immobilize someone when using both at the same time?

Shinra definitely blasts stuff away, but I'm not sure how Bansho works to begin with.
The combo might either SQUISH the victim (if it uses large-scale pull on everything including air) - IMMOBILIZE them (if only applies to the target itself, thus making the total force NIL) - or anything else I haven't thought of - or just NOT WORK to begin with, for some reason.
I definitely lack info to decide any specific way.

Unknown. I always thought chibaku tensei was the combination of both since It's like a crushing gravity force.

Chibaku is just a mini black hole materialized out of chakra, the rest is actual real physics at works, with some slight chakra control over the hole's movement or something.
Also, at the first glance - Shinra is definitely NOT gravitational, cause real gravity can only PULL; but Bansho could be simply enforced gravity, cause it PULLS stuff towards the user, pretty much like Chibaku does towards itself.

I don't know much about Black holes, but from what I hear, they contradict established physics and consist of gravitation as well as electromagnetic force, which Shinra Tensei looks to encompass.

Doesn't work that way.

The rinnegan doesn't split up techniques into one eyes while the rest gets the other.

With one eye all rinnegan Justus work the same, and with both eyes the power of your technique doubles in power.

An example of this is limbo:
A person who posses the Rinnegan can intervene in an adjacent world, an extremely distance world. In that space a shadow is produced, which everyone who is connected with the current world can't feel. Not only will the jutsu user gain a duplicate of himself with equal ability, but it will also be invisible. Squaring of against a user, counter attack is impossible, going up against this ability will result in one losing against such a powerful enemy

The Rinnegan can shape one shadow. With a complete set of two Rinnegan it can shape 4.

When fighting the enemy in close combat the shadow will stay away. But after a time the shadow will return.
The rinnegan can shape a shadow, while a complete set of two shapes four shadows.

Same logic applies to the rest of the rinnegan techniques.

One eye uses all, but a complete set of two will increase its power.

So one can't use shinra tensei with one eye and banshou with the other, doesn't really work that way with rinnegan eyes.
