[Suggestion] Banned usernames, etc.

I have often encountered this problem that, members especially alts that troll who have been permanently banned have gathered up a pile of stocks of usernames which cannot be ultimately changed unless requested, which then creates fuzz and more work for the admins. That leads to reserved usernames to which premium users or new members registering can't change to. I was wondering if admins could setup the system as to when a member is banned permanently, either the setup is changed to that the whole account is deleted, the username is at default (f.e. Anonymous etc.) or the name can be used in future by others regardless if the banned has the username or not.

Also, more interestingly, only admins can change username to different symbols than what keyboard can provide. So if this also could be changed to all members, the admins would have much less work and more time at their hands.

I like this idea. But if a member were to require a perma banned user name, people will mistake the users. And that can possibly ruin your reputation on NB depending whose name you get.

Not to mention mods can confuse the two. And you might get perma banned (New Members starting NB) Because banned members can always use proxies

One way to solve that would be to create a sticky where Premium members/Contest winners could request a banned username. That way if a mod gets suspicious the proof would be there that they asked for the name. Works for other members too, you can just tell them you requested a banned name and screenshot it for proof.

Just because the member who used it is banned doesn't mean the username itself is bad. Some usernames are really cool, but out of our reach.​

Sounds like a good idea to me. I don't understand why we can't do symbols ourselves for that matter. But there's no reason I can think of that a permanently banned user needs that username so it should be up for grabs then IMO.

Anyways usernames are first come first served. If someone has it, that's too bad. Like i don't see this happening.

Nice idea, except it would be directly harmful for the database. We have it setup like this because it works the best for us.
