[Discussion] Baldurs gate

Does anyone remember the baldurs gate series? I myself loved it. It seems though that now a days things have been turned back a little. In dragon age for example the mages are templar bitches. Mages are not feared like they once were, they've been castrated. Whatever happened to spells like, finger of death, power word kill, slay the living, death fog, time stop, and summon celestial. Dragons use to be hasted and able to cast spells as well. Dragon fear would knock your whole team to the opposite side of the screen, and render them unconscious. Not that the dragons now aren't fearsome, but they've been detuned. Whatever happened to things like save vs death while fighting. I remember some opponents would hit you and your soul would leave your body. Maybe it's just me, but I wish they would make everything like it was before. Does anyone else miss these days?

baldurs gate was ridiculously fun, don't get me wrong the games these days are fun to! buttttt those games are classics, i guess they just don't make them like that anymore

these RPGs of today are good as well. However when I do a comparison, I always compare their hardest enemies to baldurs gates beholders. Sadly the beholders remain unbeaten.
