Aside from your classes, we are pretty much the exact same way when it comes to education. I wish you luck on your final year!

School school school school school! Haha just kidding! But you're a lucky, while you're relaxing, most of us will be going back or are already back. Man I wish that was me.

Aha, thanks! I wish you good luck too! I would rep you, but I have to spread it around first... :shy:

Gonna be going into 12th grade now..haha should be fun ;)
School starts this coming Wednesday, and I'm taking the IB diploma course. Anyone else doing it or AP?
Excited-->Kind of.
Nervous--> Again, kind of because of college apps and etc. during 1st semester and then IB exams during 2nd.

Subjects I'm taking: HL-Maths, Chem, Bio, Econ....SL-English A, German B. Oh and obviously Theory of Knowledge (IB).

But atleast I get to graduate this year..hopefully I want to go to Uni in US or UK.

Nice thread btw. :)

Thank you so much! I am taking AP courses and I'm excited to see how challenging the courses turn out to be! I'm slighty nervous but generally excited about seeing those I care about so much again! :heh:

Mine starts on September 2, and I'm not nor excited neither nervous. I'll be entering the 2nd grade at high school. I'll get biology starting from this year, so there aren't many changes (except that my homeroom professor will kill me!). When I enter the 3rd grade, changes will be drastic! :mad:_@:

Are you excited? Yup

Are you nervous? Nope

Do you know where to go? Yeah, I know the places in my campus

What grade will you be entering? 2nd year of college

How do you think it will be like? Fun and busy, but worth it

Do you have everything ready for school? Plan on buying everything I need for my apartment when I get there

What classes will you be taking? Computer Problem Solving Info Domain I (Java programming), Web Development II, Statistics, and Designing the User Experience.

What changes do you expect to see? Well the most important being that my university switches to a semester system this year instead of quarter. So classes should be easier to manage as projects and tests will be more spaced out.

Try doing that in High School if you have AP classes.

Truth, I did well in most of my AP classes but AP Physics slaughtered me my senior year.

Don't be sad! Usually Senior year is the most fun out of high school! Live it up to the fullest and enjoy it with all your friends! :win:

I'm now looking on the opposite end of the spectrum. As a PhD student, I'm done with classes and only do research. I also teach an occasional lecture for my adviser. It's strange seeing the undergraduates take the same classes I took, and go to the same places I did. It's like looking into the past. Of course with my lack of effort in my appearance when doing research, and the number of hours I spend at a computer; I'm probably viewed as a hermit by them.

As I typed that I thought of myself as Kakuzu and the old generation. I guess I've had a little touch much Naruto today.

The most exciting thing for me is football season, Go Gamecocks!! I don't get the tickets free like I did as a undergraduate, but for $80 I still get to go to all the home games. I can't wait!!

It's amazing how much money we have to pay to have an education
I know >.>

I have to pay four to five thousand dollars per semester for my medical radiation science course. It is a pain in the *** for poor people like me, but at least we don’t have to pay anything up front thanks to a loan program we have in Australia called “HECS-HELP”. So when do we have to pay our debt? Well after we start working and earning above a particular threshold. I am guessing your country has a similar system like ours?

OT: Seems like many people here are a few days/weeks away from having school again. I am already in my fourth week of my semester (mind you it is my first year Zzz) and the only advice I could give you guys is to really enjoy what you are doing. Trust me if you find your subjects interesting, then you will find it a lot easier to do well in those exams. Ohh, and always stay organised. Making your own timetable does not hurt and know when assignments and tests are coming up or due. Never leave it to the last minute (like what I did back in high school ), lol.

As for me, my aim for this semester is to get HDs for my units of study. I achieved that in three of my four subjects in the first semester, but I am looking to improve on these results.

Unfortunately I don't think my area does. All I can do is fill out a lot of scholarship applications and hope for the best. And good advice there! I'll need it for college! :heh:
