you do realize that kishi is more influenced by dragon ball not dbz and i believe he even mentioned he liked dragon ball up to the appearance of frieza

Not true. Babadi's technique manipulates the darkness in ones heart and allows him to both empower them that way, and use them as tools. So far only Vegeta and, Dabura after Majin Buu was returned, were capable of resisting the wizards dark call.

Edo Tensei is only similar in the fact that there is a manipulator behind the scenes.
