He is a firm believer in the notion that ‘the weak perish and the strong survive,’ which was triggered by the death of his mother and father. Ayato bears deep grudges against his father for abandoning him and Touka when they were young.

Background Info
History:
Ayato resided in the village of the Mist with his sister Touka, under the care of their father. Having grown up with the feeling that he did not belong, he grew to question the world and everyone in it, save for his father and sister. His attempts to fit into society were met with disgust and hatred. Still, he attempted to find his place in the world around him, at the request of his sister and father.
On the night of his father's murder, his curiosity with humanity evolved into a seething hatred, and he became much harsher, and cold. He even developed a hatred for his father, who he thought was naive for ever thinking that people were accepting and kind creatures. Leaving Kirigakure and abandoning his older sister, Ayato ventured into the wilds, his current whereabouts unknown. He worked to sharpen his skills as a ninja, in order to get back at the ones who had made his life so miserable.
