Sorry it took so long, it took me forever just to figure out what I was going to do >.<. Oh, and not my best chapter. >_>

Training

?Sokka!? Piandao said as he saw his apprentice walk into the door, escorted by Fat, ?It?s good to see you. And I heard the part you played in the war, a great part indeed, so what brings the newly, and greatly, renowned swordsman to my humble home??

Sokka looked around the palace the walls made of strong stone. The dining room, where they were now, had no table, but was at least four times as large as the tents that were found in the Southern Water tribe. Lined on the sides of the dining room were beautiful pictures, most made by Piandao himself, being a man of artistry. Sokka, remembering that Piandao was there, finally answered, ?Humble isn?t really the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this place.? He said sarcastically, ?Anyway, during the war, we were driven to some drastic measures. One of which cost me to lose both my sword and boomerang.?

Piando rubbed his chin, ?Well, we can craft a new one. But it won?t be nearly as great as the last...?

?I understand,? Sokka replied, a slight sense of disappointment in his voice.

?I?ll think of something, but as it stands now, there?s no way to make it greater, or even match your original sword. But for now, I?d like to see how much you?ve progressed."

~

Sokka rushed towards Paindao, then quickly, but slickly stopped, and took several swift stabs at him. Piandao danced around the blade, and stabbed at the flat part of Sokka?s putting the swordsman off-balance.

?Much too direct of an attack,? Piandao said, taking the opportunity to stab at Sokka?s stomach, but with the butt of the sword instead of the blade.

Sokka used his free hand to grab the handle, and used the same sword against Paindao by pushing it back, sending the blade dangerously close to him.

Paindo, jumping up and using the blade to give himself an extra push, stabbed at Sokka, and then landed solidly, so solidly that Sokka thought that he felt the earth itself shake. This time, it was Piandao?s turn to take the offensive, running and sidestepping at the same time, Piandao took to steps, one to the left of Sokka, and one allowing him to get behind him in less than a second. The swords master swung his body around, as well as his sword forcing Sokka to duck down, letting out a small shriek. Sokka, still ducking, sweep-kicked his leg under Piandao, who jumped up and stabbed down at Sokka?s the vulnerable leg. Using his other leg, Sokka kicked the sword, and Piandao, off course, and used one arm to hold himself up. Sokka pushed himself backwards with the leg that he attempted to kick Piandao with.

Pushing off of his back leg, Piando rushed towards Sokka, and the young boy did the same. They both engaged in a deadly dance of blades, where one wrong movement could cost you an arm. Sokka, doing more parrying than attacking, had the deadlier part of the battle. Piandao?s attacks went forward like lightning, each attack putting him in the perfect position for the next, and it always seemed like he knew what Sokka would do before Sokka himself did. Even worse, the sword he used was just a normal sword, nowhere near as powerful or sturdy as Sokka?s original sword, which he had made from meteorite. Meaning that he had to find other ways to block than what he was used to. In a futile attempt to switch to the offense, Sokka ignored one of Piandao?s stabs, which grazed his arm, and took a ferocious swipe at him across the chest.

Piandao, feeling he had seen enough for today, simply hit Sokka?s wrist with the handle of his sword, forcing Sokka?s blade to go flying through the air. In another movement that was so smooth it hardly seemed as if the two motions were separated, Piandao poked Sokka?s neck with the sword.

?You?ve gotten better,? Paindao complimented, sheathing his sword and bowing, ?but not
good enough to beat me just yet,? he added with a wink.

?Thank you master,? Sokka answered, bowing as well.

?Now, about that sword...? Piandao began, ?I think I have an idea, but I have to be sure of it before I get your hopes up. But be ready for an adventure.?

Sokka gulped at the thought of Piandao?s meaning of ?adventure.?

Katara and Pakku, for the first time in months, took stances in front of each other. The two of them were standing on a giant glacier, in the middle of endless water. They had decided to go farther away from the Southern Water Tribe, from fear of possibly drowning it.

?Come!? Pakku challenged, breaking the silence, ?Show me what you have learned!?
Katara slid across the ice towards Pakku and moved both arms forward, making two waves of water that finally combined into one giant wave smashing against him. Pakku easily sliced one arm vertically down, slicing the wave in two, giving him enough room to continue with his own attack, making tendrils of water grasp onto her legs, Katara simply closed both hands, freezing and shattering the tendrils. Directly afterwards, Katara rose both hands, making steam rise from the water, obscuring Pakku?s vision.

Pakku coughed and waved away steam, and was suddenly smashed by a blast of water. He skid across the water like a pebble, and finally regained composure, and moved into an octopus stance. Katara rose up more water, and sent several ice needles towards Pakku. Pakku made several motions, each one connecting with the last, grabbing and returning the needles. His last movement was one to destroy the fog.

After the fog was finally gone, Pakku noticed Katara circling her arms downwards, and then felt the water spinning under him. He was in a whirlpool. Flailing wildly, Pakku made many futile attempts to free himself. And Katara?s interest was suddenly piqued when he simply complied with the whirlpool, and allowed himself to sink in. Katara looked around, and after seeing absolutely nothing for long moments, smiled. And before the grin was able to complete, four spikes of ice surrounded her from all sides.

?You let your guard down just a little too early,? Pakku said, giving the smile that Katara planned to give. He saw it only fit to compliment her, ?I?m more than proud to call you my granddaughter.?

Kozen heard a small knock on his door. After opening the door slightly to see who it was, he finally motioned for them to come in, noting that it was one of the rebellion members,
Shuei. Looking around, Kozen silently closed the door, so intent on not making a sound,
that the sound of the door completely closing almost made him jump.

?Why are you here?? Kozen asked.

?A question?s been itching at me for too long,? Shuei answered, ?What exactly do you plan to do with Ozai once we get him here? He?s powerless; he?s been stripped of his firebending powers with an ability that only the Avatar possesses.?

Kozen looked at Shuei for a moment, but he decided it was time for him to know. For a while, it had been strictly Kozen?s secret, along with a few select group of his members, a very powerful and trustworthy group, Combustion Man being one of them. Shuei was one of his trustworthy members, but he still never bothered to tell him. But now was the time.

?I figured you?d ask me this sooner or later,? he replied with a sigh, ?You always have been one of my more... over-thinking followers. Well, I guess I should show you. Follow me please.?

Kozen pushed open a door that Shuei hadn?t even noticed, it was painted the same color as the wall, and it had no doorknob, nor any visible hinges. The door led to a large staircase.

As Kozen realized they were nearing his destination, he decided to have some fun and build up the introduction.

?I?ve been doing some research lately,? he started, waking Shuei up, who was half-asleep, ?Most of that research was invested in investigating the mysterious energybending. Well, it turns out that the Avatar isn?t the only one who knows it, and, contrary to popular belief, he learned it from something, and he wasn?t hiding it.?

Shuei interrupted, ?Something?? he said, putting extreme emphasis on the ?thing? part.

?Yes, something,? Kozen backtracked onto his original words, ?So, after long amounts of research, I discovered what exactly had taught him it. It was a creature from a time before the Avatar. A lion turtle, as it was called.?

?Lion turtles... I believe that I heard of these.?

?Did you? Well, they were the ones who taught Aang energybending. I figured that if it could take the bending away, it could give it back as well. But why should it stop there? It could possibly increase the power of anyone, bender or not, by tenfold. So I decided I?d hunt them myself, powerful creatures they are. I failed miserably.?

Kozen pushed open a door, revealing a giant circular chamber, and at the bottom of the chamber was some kind of giant creature.

Kozen continued, this time with a wide smile, ?But the second time was a radical success.?

Shuei looked back and forth from Kozen and the creature, simply stunned.

The lion turtle let out a roar of despair.
