Man, a lot of these are really good, but a surprising amount of these sigs are larger than 600x300 though...

Thats because the size for premium members is 600x450 which is what I requested all sigs were made to be.

You should have read all the rules of the contest thoroughly, it stats that they should be Premium Size. You could have then went to the rules and seen the size, allowed by premium members.
