One of the several testaments to Artoria's incredible stature and capabilities is his summoning technique. Unlike ordinary shinobi, Artoria is actually signed to three summoning contracts, as opposed to merely one or two.

With his Griffins, M. Wolfs and Konohagakure's Golden Eagles at his disposal, Artoria has an unprecedented level of variety in his options for this Jutsu, which earned him a new moniker, which was taken from the name of the technique itself, the Sentō Shōkan. He learnt this powerful technique from his student, Shayde.

A benefit of being a signer of the Contract, is also guarded by two nigh-invisible wolves, which conceal themselves in his shadow. They lie in wait until an enemy, or unknown presence enters striking distance from Artoria , at which point, they lunge out at this presence in an attempt to either restrict their movements, or kill them outright with a fatal bite or slash. They also work in tandem when performs Taijutsu, further enhancing his proficiency in the field of Taijutsu.
