[Suggestion] Attention button

Hi all.Thank you thank you, yes i love you too.I have a idea.What if there was this thing called attention button for threads?Sometimes i see people make threads that are really really really long like but they only get like 10 views and 2 replays but than i see post such as Why "Sasuke is stronger than so6p" and it gets a million views.So i was wondering, what if you head 1 attention button for each thread?Every time you press it maybe on top left or somewhere on the page this thing pops up saying " this guy needs attention" or you could make it say what you like so "Hey i have an amazing theory"you mite say it will be too mixed up but what i can change the idea if you want just give me a chance i will think of something really good.It does not have to be exactly like i said it should.I just wanted a moderators and your guys replay.THANKS

I think a button like that would be more likely to be abused.
Troll threads could still gather a lot of attention that way, because people still post in them, even if the rules state to only report them and ignore them. A button would only make it worse and it would get messy I think.

Hmmm nice suggestion. But the attention button should not put in all threads. Like if a thread has no replies or views for a couple of minutes, that is when the attention button will pop up.

It would be great with some modification.

Like the user who makes the thread doesn't get the right to use the button but the users who read and find it interesting should.As for troll threads,if they get the attention message then the one who marked it as for attention could be reported ,if not liked by people.For that the names of the people who gave the thread attention category should be displayed.

About the attention button:Hey all.This morning i made a attention button thread, where you should have a button where it makes your threads get attention.Sorry to repeat myself if you have read that post but this attention button is aimed at people that make really really long threads with good ideas and get only 2 replays and 10 views.All of you have most likely experienced this where you post a really good thread and it gets overlapped or just not seen and a minute later you see something stupid as Sakura solos jubi and it gets 100 replays.Well i have think i have a solution

The solution:What if you everyone gets only 1 attention button at the start, you can only use it if you get under 10 views in 2 minutes(you will not just be randomly be able to use it). If you get under 10 views this button pops up, you press it and it has a typing box where you type something like "Awesome Naruto prediction" and on somewhere on this base a little box pops up where it says your message and a link to your thread.If you have a good history and if people like you they will give you attention points every 5 points= 2 attention buttons.

Trolls:Now if you say trolls will over use this here is my solution, people with neg rep will not have this option until they get good rep also if trolls use this it just means that the moderators will see the thread quicker and take it down and ban the troll.Also the attention box could have a moderator so it is always under someone's eye.


Hopefully you have read all of it please leave feed back and write my thread in smalls words if possible so people that can not be bothered to read it can see the idea.

Your solution for the trolls isn't good enough. Not many trolls have Negative Rep, and even if someone had a red rep bar, there's nothing stopping them from creating a new account. Not to mention that I don't really think that there's any thread on NB that has -10 views.

Take a look at my thread views half of my threads get like 4 replays.Also there is a solution to everything the troll thing could be fixed.

You posted same suggestion twice. Different people feel differently about what topic needs to get attention and they bump up stupidest things at times. It wouldn't work and that's all to it.

It's not like we are not aware of such problems. We discourage duplicate topics and spam and try our best to keep the discussions organised. It increases chance of visibility for more variety of subjects and thus hopefully more participants. Different sections/forums also give them an opportunity to be on front pages longer and to attract people interested in such a topic.

Personally, as a normal member , if I used to see such a thread which I felt needed attention I would try to post in it. But sometimes some threads just don't pick up.
