Well here is an attempt at Gimp, which I am fairly new at, there is obviously many problems with this. xd I honestly wish it could of looked better.

These Youtube Tutorials are really too fast or just plain boring, I don't feel like I am getting anywhere though

its bad..sorry..though its your first time...the render looks stretched..the blending is just meh...the color contrasts are awful and the border bad...keep trying..you will improve

Dont feel bad, ive only been doing GFX for a short while but its really easy to improve if your willing to listen to peoples critisism - now that uve been told about renders - stock stretching, borders, colours etc you can make ur own style

The border is too much it doesnt look good. Try a bit less thick border, also the effects you used dont look good with the render its like random things in an image. If you cant follow videos look for written tutorials or someone who wants to help you.

Lets se the problems shall we?

1st point! The render/stock!
- It wasnt well resized :shrug: be carefull, press shift when resizing, (i dont really know if this technique works, but everytime i pressed shift it seemed like it was resized right
-Looks really LQ, always find stocks/renders with good quality
2nd point! That blending :sy:
-It doesnt matter if it is a stock there is always a way to blend ^^ (blending-make the render feel like it is a part of the sig)

3rd point! It looks so LQ!
- Probably bcuse of the render/stock u choose Be carefull when choosing ^^

4th point!The effects
- Those white lines behind naruto/render dont go with anything and look bad U_U

5th point! The borderrrr......
- That border is really ugly, start with normal borders ^^
Explanation - Select > select all
And after:
Edit > Stroke selection (1px) and ur done

6th point! Start with easier things ^^

1st - Instead of watching sig tuts, why not read them =D
