An accused rapist walked to his victim's house and attacked her a second time just 18 minutes after being granted bail, a Melbourne court heard yesterday.

Undocumented photo. Dramatization.

The 28-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, first raped the woman the day after being released from a 14-month jail term, according to police.

The woman had picked him up from prison, despite a family violence order in place to protect her from what police described as a "propensity for violence".

He was arrested later that day on sexual assault charges but secured bail on the condition that he not go near the woman or her home, the*Herald Sun*reports.

But police said as soon as the man was granted bail, he walked straight from the police station to her home, tricked his way inside and then violently assaulted her, including biting off part of her ear.

In a police interview later, the man allegedly said that he planned to "finish her off" and asked to see photos of the woman's injuries to "cheer himself up", the Melbourne Magistrates Court heard. He faces assault charges.

Police are still investigating the rape claims, which the man denies, claiming the *** was consensual.

"After 14 months in prison, I'm not going to lie: I was very interested in making love," he was quoted as saying.

"I'm not a *** offender. That's not my field."

This is why I do not support incarceration.

You attempt to rehabilitate, or you execute/exile. Keeping people penned up for years on end at society's cost when most of them repeat criminal behavior is the definition of stupidity.

Oh sorry that a topic on a woman being brutally attacked isn't important because it happens so many times, misogynistic pricks like you just don't care.

But I guess I shouldn't expect anything from a delinquent.
I am not misogynistic and you assume so anyway, you are ignorant.

Insulting again? A bit ironic calling me a prick, otherwise calm down and rethink what should be marked as important. I'm done, have a good night.
Whoa...

and I thought I could instigate some arguments.

GreenTea - I don't think he's a delinquent.

Uchiha... why aren't you posting 'important' news items?

I think this news is indicative of more substantial problems, though. We've seen a lot of prisons releasing people because of overcrowding and budget cuts. Many of these people go right back into society and start committing the same crimes that put them in there. The system as a rehabilitation tool is not working - and the people being released are often a substantial burden to society.

Which means the bodies need to start hitting the floor. Whole-sale slaughter until the problem populations get trimmed down to size (well, and stop putting people in jail for bouncing checks and other stupid stuff like that).

step 1: Have that man go through psychiatric sessions to find out how his behaviour was formed.
step 2: When succeeded to extract enough information, execute him. (after gathering enough evidence, obviously)
step 3: Use the information you've gathered to prevent future mistakes and work on the source of these issues in our society.

Step #1 - Find a stump and obtain an axe
Step #2 - Put his neck on the stump
Step #3 - Chop his head off
Step #4 - Clean blade and reuse for next person

Cheap, quick, efficient, and reusable. If this was done in the beginning that woman would have been saved.

Chemical castration for the rape.
Severe beating for beating up a woman.
Cut his ear off too.

Do this and he will be very less driven to commit the same crime again. This will not cost the court systems much money.
