I speculate with my friends all the time about AoT. There are A LOT of theories about AoT out there. People speculate about it very often tbh. Pretty much everyone I personally know says that this is a Anime/Manga that makes people speculate a lot and gives you a lot to talk about.

A mystery that is engaing something you can speculate about on the side as it goes is a mystery.
Aomething on going.
AOT reveals something and that people are left wondering what is and how it fits in until more is revealed

There is no two way connection its all wait and see.
a good mystery or plot gives people something to chew on even if there theory go way into the opposite direction..

The good thing aot has is that it shocks you. There are some bland characters like mikasa, but overall most characters are likeable, like levi or ervin.
Go on about all the clever things you came up with in regards to the info the story has revealed to you.

its a bird feed mystery its not something that one can pick apart while waiting for the rest to come out. You know nothing and will continue to be in the dark until he reveals more that is not a mystery.

No when thing become hyped (whch is usually just a loud minority of people)There will always be others to rightfully point out why its just a over inflated hot air balloon that reached zepplin proportions.
It has nothign to do with people "attacking it because its popular.
Its popular so its getting reactions from all angle not just from people who follow it blindly.
I watched every episode and i am up to date on the chapters i enjoy watching it for what it is so i will defnitely point out when people try to put it on a pedal stool.

Why is the church never shown is because it is tightly woven into the central story and it will give away too much ?
These aren't mysteries they are loose threads.

Apart of the fun of a mystery is you can be apart of it
Anything that was ever revealed was through plot device by the writer.
They were all isolated info drops
Nothing is piecing together because shit is missing not because it is moving at a natural pace and we will figure it out ourselves but because the writer will once gain reveal something.
Tell me one theory that hints at what the story might be doing soon with any of the "MYSTERIES" so far revealed.
If you say i can't think of anything yet becasue there is no info then the mystery is weak and relies too heavily on its own plot moments to keep the momentum of the story alive .

I want to remind people that, if you give your dislike do so in a normal fashion and give some reasoning.
I like it a lot, mainly due to the mystery in which it is enshrouded. Next to that, it indeed has high end animations considered due to it being a very recent anime.
You just have to like the theme. I get why people dislike it. It isn't like a shonin jump where things are build up rather slow, i'll give you that as well.

The plot is entertaining not great its the just giants eating people as they scurry around trying not to get eaten its not exactly deep
There has been no plot twist the plot is the same there still going out on scouts and there still being eaten and nowhere close to figuring anything out.
Nobody development for characters as everyone is exactly the same as they started out...except for Armin and Jon
everyone still reacts the same to every situation

The show has excellent animation
Scene arrangement for better cohesive anime adaption was a nice touch.
Armin and Jon are a plus on the character side as they show actual development.They are not who they were in the beginning and have gone on to become stronger since then in a multitude of ways.
The setting and artistic visual of the world itself is inviting and fresh
CONS:
Random story bits and questions introduced and promptly ignored
I have no idea of how big there settlement is,the inner workings the everyday people
The church is involved in shady shit yet were suppose to forget they exist
Erin is still a whiny brat

Aggrandizing a mediocre manga that relies on tropes older than time itself,confusing a mystery
with questions that seemingly fit nowhere its a cheesy tactic
Its called place holding questions that give peopel the time to say on look at that but in the end provides no subtance to go off of
In order to have a mystery they questions left unanswered must provide context to what is going on which is where theories and speculation begin.

Get lost man... The political warfare was a BIG part in the manga. If you compare that to DBZ no one can convince you otherwise because you seem to live in your own world.
There were so many plot twists and yet you say that AoT has none.
Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Hannes, Jean, Historia, Reiner, Bertholdt and Ymir had enough development. Don't speak nonsense like "no character development except for Jean and Armin".
