"it throws something at you which your completely in the dark about until it reveals more info later."
Believe it or not, that's how mysteries work...
"A mystery is something we can all ponder and try to figure out (Not completely) but to some extent with what is provided
AOT gives you nothing to snack on and analyze as the story advances its not a mystery its called shock value."
Who is the female titan? Where due titans come from? What's in the Jaeger basement? What's up with the wall?
Those questions are something to ponder on. The point is to try and figure out what exactly is going on with the information given. The answers to the produced questions aren't random, they're in the story. Attack on Titan does exactly what you say it doesn't do.
I wasn't trying to say anything but honestly, all these claims of Attack on Titan being over-hyped and overrated is just critical speculation. People are simply being objective towards Attack on Titan because it's popular. When things become too popular they tend to be over-analyzed to the point where the criticism is pure spite.
Attack on Titan is great but people refuse to give credit where it's due. If Attack on Titan never received claims like "greatest anime ever!" "greatest character development!" "Amazing plot!" or "Best shonen out there!" then no one would look at it so partially.
if someone says Attack on Titan is the best anime ever and someone else thinks that One Piece is the best, then the One Piece fan is going to watch Attack on Titan purposely looking for flaws to compare it with One Piece. These "flaws" that were once unnoticed become exposed and blown out of proportion and people begin to come up with this idea that "Attack on Titan isn't so great".
That's why we should always say "in my opinion".
No when thing become hyped (whch is usually just a loud minority of people)There will always be others to rightfully point out why its just a over inflated hot air balloon that reached zepplin proportions.
It has nothign to do with people "attacking it because its popular.
Its popular so its getting reactions from all angle not just from people who follow it blindly.
I watched every episode and i am up to date on the chapters i enjoy watching it for what it is so i will defnitely point out when people try to put it on a pedal stool.
As Oddity said
One dimensional characters that have been seen in countless anime
QUESTIONS not "Mysteries" that are dropped in a linear fashion.
I seen once person list the "mysteries"
Can any of that info be traced together to form a better understanding of any other "mysteries" going on ?
Has anyone speculated what her fathers powers could be ?
How they pertain to whats in the basement ?
Is it a secret or is a tangible device that can help agianst the titans ?
How is the church involved.?
Why is the church never shown is because it is tightly woven into the central story and it will give away too much ?
These aren't mysteries they are loose threads.
Each one that was presented to US not figured out by US
Apart of the fun of a mystery is you can be apart of it
Anything that was ever revealed was through plot device by the writer.
They were all isolated info drops
Nothing is piecing together because shit is missing not because it is moving at a natural pace and we will figure it out ourselves but because the writer will once gain reveal something.
Tell me one theory that hints at what the story might be doing soon with any of the "MYSTERIES" so far revealed.
If you say i can't think of anything yet becasue there is no info then the mystery is weak and relies too heavily on its own plot moments to keep the momentum of the story alive .
