So in order to read this, you need to be caught up on the Attack on titan manga (chapter 68). I think I know almost everything, there's just a couple odds and ends i don't know.
I think that the first king is responsible for the creation of the titans. he created the origin titan who helped make the walls with those colossal type titans in the walls (this origin titan potentially being related somehow to the beast titan, given that the beast titan can create titans)
I think that he did this to create a situation where most of the world was exterminated except for a few select families. Perhaps the motivation be race related, or what have you. But these few families were all thats left in the world. he could create a perfect utopia. He was able to control their memories. The only exception were the 2 stray families also caught in the wall (the ackermans and the japanese clans). So the ones who stuck out were executed. There's also some people who opted to stay outside the walls (outside wall maria).
Every Reiss (the royal family) who obtains the memories of the old world also inherit the first kings will, so they preserve the world.
I think... that eren's father... is working with those groups outside the wall. We know he has access to titan serum. And we know that he (like annie, reiner, and bertold) tried to steal the power of the coordinate from ross. I think that that group wants to use it to save the world.
Here is what I DON'T know:
Why did reiner and bertold need to destroy the wall? Why was annie sometimes helpful, sometimes sadistic?
Also, here are the kinds of titans we know about:
Normal titans. These titans presumably have underdeveloped brains in their napes as theorized by hanges and pixes.
Titan shifters. These have full people inside of their napes, however if they overdo their titan forms, they can become like regular titans and fuse to their titan bodies.
New titans. These are created by the beast titan. They seem to be formed from humans and are able to move at night. Connie's mom is a new titan.
I think that ymir was a human, then 60 years ago became a new titan. Then she ate bertolds friend and stole his ability to shift and become human.
I don't yet know what the significance of the new titans are.
