Sales rises again as the story approaches its climax. According to the latest Oricon report, the 463-yen regular edition of the 20th volume of Hajime Isayama's Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan manga released in Japan on August 9 sold an impressive 917,057 copies in its first week, taking the top place in the weekly manga sales chart. Meanwhile, the volume's 1,000-yen limited edition with a 27-episode short novel book ranked 5th with 89,365 units. The total sales was 1,006, 422.
In contrast, the regular edition and limited edition with a set of 52 postcards of the manga's previous 19th volume released in April of this year sold 719,197 copies and 52,510 units respectively in its first week. The total sales was 771,707.
The story in the 20th volume directly continues to the latest chapter in the September 2016 issue of Monthly Bessatsu Shonen Magazine also released on the same day, August 9.
