So his people believe in him and have good opinion about him.Only fools who don´t know in what state Russia was in 1999 before Putin compared to know can call him power thirsty man.

Calling their military old is something only ignorant people can say.Russia is ranked :

First in nuclear power
Second in air power
Third in naval forces
First in land forces

Surely, not all of russian equipment is super-modern, but weapons like S-300, S-400, Su-35, Mig-35, Ka-50, Ka-52, Mi-28 are really good, especially anti aicraft systems of S series, which by many are considered to be the best in the world.
