First of let me make it clear that i'm not the nicest person nor am i the smartest person on here..i just gotta get My opinion on this topic out there. I'd just like to say something about all the threads i see here, about religion and homosexuality mainly.
Why are people seemingly incapable of recpting others and their opinions on here? I constantly see Atheists bashing religious people, and religious people bashing atheists,and homosexualls being bashed by both parties,and bashing them back. Why do people feel the need to controll what others think, feel and do? It really hurts My faith in humanity when i see this. Especially on a manga/anime forum (i Know i'm adding to it with this thread). I've got all kinds of friends, religious, hardcore atheist, gay,straight. Because i don't let petty stuff bother me. I like Nice and respectfull people, as long as you have these qualities i'll be your friend, even if you belive in the flying spaggethi monster. /rant

Truthfully its matters of opinion and knowledge of the things they believe. Both sides at times have the problem of just saying the three words "I don't know" when it comes to the merit of what they believe. Some people hold extreme prejudice toward people who don't hold their same beliefs, while others don't know how to adequately express themselves and their opinions in a professional matter. In the end people are going to express their opinions in whatever manner they choose.

Human beings are political creatures.

Politics is, generally speaking, the use of some perceived injustice to gain influence for one's own ambitions. Sometimes the injustice is real; usually it is manufactured and/or exaggerated.

The drama, now? "Gays are so persecuted!"

Why are the politicians saying this? Because the vast majority of people do not want to persecute homosexuals. Even those who do not agree with it being morally correct tend to be against persecution and injustice. But it is easy to assign a group as being the cause of persecution and then place any case of persecution under the microscope so that people will jump to conclusions and throw their consent behind what a politician is doing.

The same thing goes for racism. The reason politicians keep spouting off about it is because it gives them power. The overwhelming majority of people aren't racist - but if you can paint political opponents as racist and yourself as being a 'warrior' for equal rights (by giving them hand-outs and lecturing them about how they have been so horribly wronged and need to put their faith in more hand-outs because they will never be equal...) - then you win. Because people want equal rights and don't think past the sound-bites.

It's also used to divide. You'll find races, in particular, are purely defined politically. If you go over to asia - their 'reporting races' are completely different from how we report races, here. The same with the Balkan states. What we call "white' or "Caucasian" simply doesn't exist in those places. You're Chechen, Serbian, Croatian, etc - just as "Asian" doesn't exist as a race in China.

They are political identifiers - not true marks of heritage (which are unique to each individual).

Religions have done the same thing (even the religion of not-religion). Jews following the teachings of Christ eventually had to distinguish their following from Judaism. If you didn't accept Christ as your savior - you went to hell (or so they eventually reasoned). It drew a line in the sand separating Christian groups and Jewish groups that would later be used as grounds for killing each other over.

Just like academia has since insisted that 'educated' people do not 'have faith' in 'a god.' If you believe in such things - you must be a moron - and not just any moron - a dangerous one who can lash out violently at any time. After all - just look at what religion has done over the years.

And so, they will suggest putting religious folk into 'safe areas' where they 'can be free to practice' without 'being a threat.'

The concentration camps will return. We did it to the Native Americans. We did it to the Japanese. It will, eventually, come to pass again.

It happened under Stalin. It happened under Mao.

History is a testament to the human ambition to dominate and usurp each other. It is an instinct we must be keenly aware of and instill within our children knowledge and the desire to manage that instinct if we ever want to see the pattern broken.

Be exceptionally leery of those espousing promises and messages of utopia. Human beings are, first and foremost, predators. Always bear that in mind. Two wolves and a sheep will never agree on what to have for dinner.

Although,i find myself swallowed by the thread wars from time to time.
I just can't stand intolerance and stupidity.

I hardly ever see any gay males on here such as myself. Actually, I'm bisexual but you know what ever. As if I could care about these people's opinions on how I live.

I however, do see religious people get bashed greatly in religion threads and such but then again?

Like you said this is an anime and manga forum and half these people are trolling such as myself and don't even care much if you aren't gay, bi, straight, religious or atheist. They want to see you care that's all when you shouldn't because most likely, you won't ever know the face of the person judging so... why care?

This what Naruto is doing to most people in NB , since he too likes to shove his beliefs in other peoples throats & of course if you don't agree with them , you are the one who is wrong .
