Atheism is prevalent and still on the rise in developed, modern nations, i.e; North America, Europe, etc...whereas Sub-developed or impoverished areas have been shown to be the opposite.

Because most settlers were missionaries spreading the word of God.

Science wasn't that big until the recent years as it was considered taboo which it is still ~ experiments on living beings to gain knowledge anyways.

So those who aren't "developed" only have the tools that were given which is religion.

religion can be passed down rather easily through vocal means.

Science needs to be learned. One wrong concept and it would be false. Religion is an easy concept to grasp: Dont be a cheeky **** and you will have good fortunes in the future.

I believe that religion is just for those who need a peace of mind. They're not doing it because they have to, they're doing it because they want to. It's like smoking. You can choose to keep going or just stop. Those that smoke have the need to do it because it makes them feel good and it relieves them from stress.

Although, considering I find religion and most Christians to be full of shit, I would just let them be them. Ironic considering I used to be one, but then I started to think for myself and gather some ****ing sense, and not be forced to follow Christianity because my parents wanted me to.
