Give it time. Boruto is only 8 - 12 years old (depending on whether you're talking about the anime or manga) and he already has some significant divergence from Naruto (ie. lightning shuriken, seal, dojutsu, sword in the future, etc...) Heck, he even uses shadow clones in a much different manner from Naruto.

Sure Boruto has a couple of jutsus in common with Naruto, but that is to be expected considering that he is Naruto's son after all. The big thing to consider however, is the fact that Boruto is not a jinchuuriki, so even if they were trying to make him Naruto 2.0, they'd reach a huge impasse once they get to the issue of Naruto's Kurama related powers.
