It doesn't matter what happened to the body. Hagoromo had all the bijuu chakra. Ashura had all the bijuu chakra. His cloak takes form of the strongest chakra out of them.

he probably was born with Bijuu Chakra inside him. that form looks humanoid.

Ashura had the same chakra as Indra i.e. Six Paths chakra, which he later blossomed (by whatever means). And Six Paths chakra is the same power as Juubi chakra whether after combining it with SM depends on which chakra Ashura had, and it creates RSM combined that with physical energy gives Ashura those powers.

The feet are exactly like Kurama's too, though. I'm not saying Ashura was a jinchuriki, but the design of his avatar is pretty strange

i agree i made a theory 2 years ago stating that ashura would have similar markings to bm naruto except it would be his own chakra

Well It was Ninshu at the time...and Ninshu is way more potent than ninjutsu. So it is safe to assume that the power got watered down after generations.

We don't know how many times Ashura migrant passed down before he got to Hashirama. Those before Hashirama where probably strong as well.
