Yeah, it was a pretty emotional moment. You wouldn't expect him to die either, since there was no foreshadowing to even suggest it.

Well, no I take that back. Asuma was part of the guardian shinobi and that temple was hit pretty hard. He was the last remaining, so it would make sense in that light.

I just played the whole game story line (yes I know its off a little) and o have read way to much about the anime that I already knew it was going to happen so basically I spoiled everything for myself.

I cried a lot when he died because it was just so sudden and unexpected.

I almost cried. I liked Asuma, but you can't say he didn't have it coming. Hidan was too much for him, and I can't help but wonder if he knew he was going to die before that fight took place. Poor Kurenai, pregnant and all alone.
